Hey, can any of 3 gen (99) protege owners tell me if they have a what looks like a small metallic lid at the filler nosle? I was talking to a mechanic about my gas tank problem and he told me that that little part might have fell off into the filler nosle and is blocking incoming fuel.... I dont remember having one but want to check, just in case.

I have a 2003 P5 and I don't have what you're describing. I know what you're talking about tho, it's like a little aluminum door/flap thingy that opens when you push the gas nozzle through right? If so, my P5 doesn't have it and I'm almost positive other 3rd gens don't either.
