it was never available to the public. I've had to struggle with bad vendors for too long.

When I get it finished I'm sure there will be a huge buzz so you won't miss out on anything. Just hang around the forum for a while and save your pennies.

I can't wait for this to come out. I have been with you from day one Matty. I have been saving a little here and there. Hopefully by mid to end of summer I will have enough for the WOMP if it is out by then which I believe it can be.

Yeah, I appreciate the support from everyone. I've had to change the position of the blower yet again. This time it's a drastic change. The brackets I made out of MDF to test fit everything broke when I started the car because the compressor housing was too close to the manifold and radiator. Even with the AWR mounts it wiggles too much.

The blower is now mounted FIRMLY to the drivers side frame rail where the coolant overflow bottle was.

How can you have a blower NOT mounted to the engine you may ask?? Well, thats part of the new drive system we've been working on. Think "dremel flex shaft" and you'll know what I'm talking about. It allows me to mount the blower in a place with plenty of room where it'll NEVER smack the radiator again, while reducing the amount of piping to improve throttle response and mount the blower away from the exhaust.

It's a big improvement all around and I'm real excited about it. I have wed-thurs off this week and I'll try to finish up the new mounts and snap some pics for everyone.

So is this going to mean A/C can stay, or no because you still need a place to put the pulley?

And regarding A/C, does the A/C not go on until you actually press the "A/C' button, or does it go on when you turn the dial down cold enough? Because I'd be more then happy with the cold air that comes out when the button isn't pressed....

Oh, and great to hear the news, can't wait to see pics!

the ac compressor clutch doesn't engage until you press the button. AC is still gone. There's very little room to cram so many things. This does mean I don't have to make custom radiator brackets anymore which is less work on my part.

Nutari, Your stuff is boxed up and ready to ship. I haven't gotten your money order

Nutari, Your stuff is boxed up and ready to ship. I haven't gotten your money order yet but I will try to get my wife to pick it up on her next off day.
Any update on this? A tracking # would be good too. This was over a month ago now.

sorry man. I've still got everything here. Everyone's money/parts is all being refunded. I'm having to pull a large amount of money out of a personal account that had to be mailed to me. The check arrived and was put in my bank but had to wait to clear. If everything goes as planned it'll clear on wednesday and I have thursday off so I plan on shipping everythign to you then.

Since the new year I've started another job and work 50hrs a week and no longer have set off days every week where I can schedule work and appointments.

From now on I'm going to be very cautious about taking on side jobs. I'm taking on too many projects at once and everyone wants their stuff done first. It's difficult for me to prioritize so I'm going to get everyone back to square one and start over with a better gameplan.

Hey everyone, new here to sign up and having just finished catching up i had a few questions and concerns about the new s/c for the 2.0L. First, If the fins are going to be straght like that, its going to kind of ack like a turbo. (There will be little boost at first and then more like all at once). When the revs get up it will start to suck real rapidly and then the hp will just spike and be imedatally time to shift right when it gets good. Even if the the s/c spins faster now. (beacause you said that the company whos producing it for you mainly sells them for high reving boats)
Also with a 4 in inlet diameter thats seems too big if you use that size piping we will lose torque. That size would seem more for a big block to me and that it would really affect the speed of the air moving throgh the pipe. Weak performance at low rpms (slower airflow) and strong performance at high rpms (faster airflow to match the straight fins).
Im not trying to knock you, but a s/c in are case shouldnt it have more low end grunt right away, like it showed on that first dyno you did with the powerdyne blower with the curved fins. The torque was right away like at 2500rpms (Guessing) and then pulled all the way through. Will this s/c be sutible for street?
One more question, im not sure you have the new s/c yet, but because of the higher gear ratio wont it be harder spin the s/c (take more hp) and also possibly causing belt slip? I read that you are going to beable to wrap the belt around the pulley better which will be needed.
I guess only dynos will tell.

Ps. correct me on anything and thx in reply

sorry mike, cleaning it out after this reply.

02pro20, good questions. I'll try to clear up a few things about the new blowers.

1. They are very impressive in person. Some minor blemishes on the unit I'm working with now but it's just a mock-up piece to get the measurements right. It's a much larger compressor wheel inside a housing that is almost the exact same size of the last blower.

2. The reason for the straight fins is multi-faceted. For starters the compressor wheel is a solid forged piece. This was done to prevent damage or flexing at higher speeds....this is where the main benefit is in a straight finned compressor. The internal step-up ratio of the new blower is about 12% taller than the last one. This will increase boost on-set MUCH sooner than before. Prveious dynos with this blower on other vehicles showed that on similar engines (saturns) that the curved compressor built boost so rapidly that it caused traction to be unattainable. Also at higher speeds you had an efficiency drop-off because of the compressor rake. In order to maintain power up top (efficiently) we had to substitute gobs of torque down low for higher gear ratios. I think it's a great compromise. One 5 mile drive up and down a hill will show you what I mean.

3. Centrifugal SC's don't really increase torque that much as they increase in power in a linear fashion with engine rpms. As the rpms increase and the blower makes more power the torque will fall off (in general). With more air being crammed in you'll see the torque curve stay almost completely flat while the HP curve continues to pin you back in the seat.

4. The new blower pulley is a "floating auto-tensioner" design. This allows me mount the blower solidly to the chasis and avoid any of the vibration problems I had in the past while still having plenty of room for a more complex tensioner that will provide almost 300* of belt wrap. Also, pulley changes will be MUCH faster and easier.

5. The SC inlet and outlet are a special thing I wanted to try. What it does is use a HUGE amount of suction and compress it down almost instantly inside the compressor BEFORE stuffing it in the intake manifold. This provides a denser air charge producing more power at lower rpms and lower boost pressures. The last blower was a 3.5" inlet and 3" outlet. It had NO problems with torque down low.

6. When I first mentioned the use of a centrifugal blower everyone berrated me with the ole "supercharger drag kills power". this was before I made 60whp on 4.5psi. After that dyno everyone shut up. The best part was that I had NO tuning other than standard haltech base maps based on HiBoosts turbo kit. It was HORRIBLY rich and I could've made an easy 15-20whp more with tuning. Think of how that boils down into efficiency. No intercooler, slipping belt, 4.5psi = 80whp increase?? thats almost 20whp per psi. I don't know ANYONE who can make those power numbers without an intercooler on pump gas with no tuning. As if that wasn't enough this blower is going to shadow the old powerdyne in the power department. Don't let the idea of "supercharger drag" keep you from saving your pennies.

Did that make sense?
