Another reason to keep the womp going is to prove all those idiots out there who said it can't be done.

Just in time to keep me from losing my sanity.....there are HUGE updates on the project coming real soon.

I want to explain the delays to everyone so we're all on the same footing.

The powerdyne blower used for mock-up had a 3" outside diameter inlet pipe....this new T5 blower has a 4" INSIDE diameter inlet pipe. 100% of the plumbing had to be re-done and it's being sent back to me to make sure there are no clearance issues with anything.

The bracketry that I sent him to replicate is being thrown out (excpet the ps bracket). After my meltdown at the track with the rear motor mount blowout I decided I really needed a more secure way to mount the headunit to the block that would not put strain on the waterpump any. I'm currently making new templates of how I want the blower to mount and it will be bolted directly to the head instead of the waterpump. This will keep vibration down also but will be a little more noticeable. Small price to pay IMO.

The original tensioner design was a 2-piece bracket that pivoted on a bolt to snug up the belt. In the upper rpms the belt would slip and squeal a little. This is not effective. It's being thrown out and a brand new tensioner designed by me is going in. It will incorporate a staionary idler pulley and a long bolt that is used to move the idler pulley down into the belt belwo the blower pulley. This will give almost 90% belt wrap which is great. No belt slip, easier/faster pulley changes, etc.

Concerning the new blower. The model name is a T5. It's a GREAT design that is very decpetive. The outside scroll housing has been made smaller while the compressor wheel is actually MUCH bigger. The powerdyne picture I posted with my cellphone on the compressor wheel used a 5.9" compressor wheel. This new T5 uses a 7-7.5" compressor wheel with the same exterior dimensions. It's going to flow a TON of air. Also, the internal gearing is stepped up another 10% over the powerdynes for faster spooling and more low-end. Adam has been very open with me about the technology behind his blowers but until his patents come back approved I'm not allowed to discuss much more. All I can say is that these blowers will make CRAZY boost levels and do it all day long without fade or problems. His main source of blower sales are to boat racers who run at full throttle for hours at a time. He has only had one compressor damaged.....the damage occured when a race boat sucked a bird into the engine. I kid you not. It chewed up the bird and destroyed the engine. When the engien was torn apart the SC unit only suffered a few scratches but every piece was able to be cleaned and re-used without re-machining. Can your turbo eat a bird without a rebuild>?!?

The current schedule for getting parts looks like this:

I should recieve my mock-up headunit from Adam on wednesday. I will spend the next 2-3days doing nothing but re-doing the piping and finalizng the new tensioner system. I'll send pics to the sponsored guys but the rest of you guys will have to wait for the final pieces to get pics.

After I finish the new pipes and bracket system I'll overnight the stuff to his shop. He will take the items and cast the molds. Molds are very expensive and cost me a lot of money but it's the only way I can replicate the kits exactly right everytime. Also, pieces that come out of the mold will be near polished finish everytime. They can then be powdercoated or painted or thermal coated....wahatever.

When Adam has the molds finished it'll take about 24 hours for the pieces to be made. The molding and casting process he says will have a about a one week turnaround time. This will be for every order....After the molds are set and we know they're right it'll take about a week for the kit to be made after it's ordered. then a few days to be shipped. Molds = quicker turnaround once they are proven good.

To sum it up. I should have new pics and videos for everyone within 2 weeks (give or take a little). i'm very excited and very broke.

A sad update is that this whole process is costing more and more. I promise it'll still be less than a standard turbo kit but it's sucking me dry to pay for this shop time and molding and materials and stuff. I just want everyone to know I'm doing everything I can to deliver a quality product at a great price. but If I have to choose between raising the price a little and delivering a lesser product I'm going to raise the price a little. I don't want anyone to be unhappy.

p.s. This new T5 blower has been proven to make 35psi on a chevy big block. The engine then grenaded. The owner thought his high flowing heads and intake wouldn't make any more than 8psi on his engine but he was wrong. This will be a one time purchase. No upgrades needed. Just buy a different pulley and hope your block is strong enough.

any updates? if its going to take a month or longer i think i am going to go ahead and invest in a short block for my protege, so i'll be ready when the kit is done.

I'm kind of curious too....MPI(MPINick on MSProtege) is having a sale on their shortblocks, and they're only 25 minutes away from me, so I'm really thinking of doing that now....If I can get some money together!

sorry guys...there's been another short delay but I honestly think it'll be a month+ before I have anything ready for you guys.

I HIGHLY suggest a built shortblock asap. In my past few conversations with the manufacturer he's got me a little worried that the blower would make a lot more power than our engines could handle. This is not really a problem if you run low boost...but no'opne wants to brag about running 4psi. His T5 blower (revised version of what I was working with) made 35+psi on a big block chevy V8 with huge heads and intake. If the blower is capable of such high boost levels it seems a waste to run so little!

I'm REALLY wanting to get someone to push the limits of the blower. I have no reason to think this blower isn't capable of 300+whp easily. Just need someone willing to test it out. I'll provide the intercooler with dedicated e-fan and/or a watermist system...power is only a pulley away.

If I get the shortblock before the kit, I'd be more than willing to be your guinea pig! Thats what I want to do anyway, I want to push this kit, and not only show off that you got it to work, but that you and this kit mean buisness! I wanna take all those turbo's out! I mean, MAM and HiBoost do great work, and all their products are well made adn are producing some good number on the Protege, but I wanna be different! I'll keep you updated if I get the shortblock!

the more the merrier.

A built engine really is the safest/best way to go. If you guys decide to have this done and you plan on using some sort of engine management to control things Look into having the engines built for high rpm use...this will allow more overall boost (also plan on buying the eibach valve springs to prevent float)

I'd think 8.5:1cr, an e-manage blue with larger injectors and a soon-to-be designed intercooler system will be great.

Im another one who will want to push the womp to its limits. Plus I have an auto, so I'm going to go and get a built auto tranny to hold 300whp or more. The stuff I want to do to this car is very costly, buts its such a goal and dream of mine it will be done.
