Thumbs down **** erotica

ugh! I was just checking out Maxx Mazda'a pix of the Mazda Speed exaust. I plan on putting a custom set-up on my ride for performance and sound's sake, but do they all have to come with that god-ugly big hole. There seems to be something awful homo-erotic about that (w)hole idea. I definetly prefer a duel out. Does this only come in the one style. or does another company make one that is more to my preference? Any info would be helpfull.

Red face Not ***

I certainly didn't mean to imply that homo-erotic is bad, just not my cup o'tea. Anyway, did that guy who was going for the Dyno-test ever get his results? I am very interested in finding out what they were. My down payment left me pretty broke and all I can start out with is a CAI and the exaust so I am very curious to see if it will be worth the investment.

Talking Mazdaspeed Exhaust installed!

first off I have to thank Justin (Maz94Protege) and his friend Matt for helping me install the muffler, I would still be stuck on the rusted nuts if it wasn't for them, thanks fellas

and now, here are some pics

this is the stock muffler:

stock muffler removed, side to side with the Mazdaspeed muffler:

Mazdaspeed muffler installed:

Just so everyone that is considering buying the muffler knows, as you can see in this picture, the muffler fits PERFECTLY to the sedan's exhaust cutout on the stock rear bumper.

closer look at the exhaust tip:

a shot of the 'Mazdaspeed' etching on the tip:

and a full rear shot of the car with the muffler:

I noticed that the pipe from muffler to tip is very long, alot longer then the MS exhaust for my P5. I would of thought they kept the size from the tip to exhaust and change the size of the axle pipe. Anyways its still a good exhaust just looks like it was made for the P5 then just touched up a bit for the sedan. Just my thoughts..

Thumbs up Mazdaspeed exhaust dyno results!!!!

someone at the 'other' forum did a dyno run with AEM short ram and Mazdaspeed exhaust installed, and compared with stock dyno results:

3hp for an axle-back bolt-on, not too shabby

Talking more treats for everyone!!!

I just remembered my IBM handheld PC has a built-in microphone, so I went out and recorded a clip of my car's exhaust sound. This is from right behind the exhaust tip. I tried to record one from within the cabin but it didn't turn out too well, so I deleted it

anyway, here it is, listen to that burbling rumble!!!

btw, this is the first ever recording of the exhaust on the 1.8L engine from the 99-00 ES's.

enjoy!

WOW that exhaust sounds NICE. I'm seriously thinking about getting one now. But I want my struts/sway bars/lowering springs first!

Yeah, the exhaust sounds good. But what I really want to hear is what it sounds like under load and driving. I hear all these complaints about how loud it is and about it resonating, I want to hear it before I plop down 2 bills for something I might have to try to sell on ebay.

The thing with me is that it has to pass the wife test, as this is also a family vehicle.

it probably will fail the wife test. The resonance is loud
