what if any are the know ignition system differances between the escort gt 91-96 and the protege 90-94 lx

same engine, same distro, same spark plugs. Not 100% sure on the igniter and coil, but most likely they are the same. Both us the same Home & Signals @ the Distro if you're talking on that level.

the reson i posted this is casue my protege tach wouldnt work from the coils wire int he engine bay but i had it wired wrong

works great now !!!!!

Odd...I used that wire for my Remote start's Tach and it works fine...

no no iwired the tach wrong on the back of it. If you take it out of th cluster theres 3 teminals from top to bottom its
Pos+/ Neg/ Signal

i had it wired like
Pos/Sig/Neg
