Engine washing
I'm a mech at an import shop in San Antonio, and with all the crap on today's modern engines, I would only wash an engine with a low pressure sprayer. It's like russian roulette, using a car wash wand to do the job. You may get lucky and not get a connection wet, you may screw yourself and end up paying for a tow home!!!!!!!!!!

SCiMMiA24, please use the search feature next time (upper right hand corner of the screen). *Ususally* you can find lots of info as topics are oftem repeated.
For me, I like to use the foaming engine degreaser. Spray that EVERYWHERE and cover the ignition COILS and possibly ALTERNATOR if you dont have a sealed bearing type (i dunno about your car ). Let that sit about 10-15 mins, then get a hose and spray the metal parts while setting it to a lower setting when running over rubbers, plasctics, and wires. Make SURE to clean everything THOUROUGHLY to get rid of all the cleaner.
You can buy special plastic polishes to shine up the plastic and rubber parts. but whatever you do, NEVER use armorall.
