He was most likely smoked by a protege and just needs time to vent, I used to be on that band wagon to. When i went car shopping all i wanted was a civic, why, cause everyone had one. I get there and the Honda guy sells me a protege because its the only used car on the lot thats not broken somehow, some people need to get there heads out of their *** and realize when there beat.

Hey guys. I love my 90 PRO LX w/5spd. but since my back injury It's been hard to go on long trips with her. So gettin back to the original question. I would and am look for a 626 93 and up with the v6 and 5speed. There selling for between 2500 and 4000. and they are fast. They also handle great but with amore supple(?) ride. But its all good, because my brother loves my car to, and he would sell his 92 jetta when i get my 626, and keep that pro for himself. So i would still get to see her

Hey Douche-spray!
There's Proteges here that will eat your "bottle fed del sol"(Del sol? aren't those just slower crxs?) for breakfast. Nitrous fits on Mazdas also, ya little douch-sprayer! Not to mention that a del sol is a chick-car if there ever was one. So that makes you a little crying girly-girl.

So pack up your douche-bag of an attitude and BEAT IT!!!

all i have to say is, your going to spend a few thousand dollars for whut you want either way you go. 12 second cars are hard to come by you know. i agree with everyone else about the hondas though, they are trash. if you want to be fast start with a car that was meant to be fast not an econobox. take an mk3 supra for example, very underrated yet still a 14 sec. stock. and priced the same if not less than a 1st gen pro. the 7m engine is a way more serious engine than the b16-18s as far as performance goes. whutever you do stop talkin to your friends and get whut you want not something they think is cool. after all theyre never gonna drive it. good luck.

Is the mk3 supra the early 90's model? They will rape u on innsurance if u get that. And they are also hard to come by in good condition with low miles.. Hondas arnt bad cars so stop downing then they have ALOT of potential if u have the money to swap in a b20b and turbo charge it that supra will get smacked down. But that goes for most cars either way ur gonna be spending alot of money to make a fast car if u have a lx protege u can get a mid 13 second car with 40k for around 2000 dollars. its up to u to decide dont let people affect your choice. The protege is more original and is a sleeper to most people it will get credit when its done by many people ...Jon 93 lx

they are shitty because:

-they look like a oversized June bug
-they should make more power than they do
-they are extremely played out
-ive killed every one i have raced
-it is one of the millions of Honda's ive seen that are supposedly 'hooked up'

anyways, im not trying to start an argument by this, but just as everyone has said before, these Honda's are played out. im sick to death of seeing them. its time for aftermarket manufacturers to switch there attention from Honda's to something else. at this point, i dont care who (Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, Ford, etc). every Honda owner i talk to is like, 'im trying to be different.'

bullshit, you are. youve got the same rims, bodykit, engine components, paint job, and seats as the guy next to you. and this is what i deal with everyday...

of course if you pit a stock Supra against a Civic/Del Sol thats turboed, its going to lose. but this is the same with any car. you take a stock Cobra Mustang and pit it up against a fully blown MKIV Supra with 800rwhp and the Supra is going to put the Cobra to shame. so thats a really bad example.

as far as the original post. i would recommend keeping your car and working on it. you can make more power and style with what you have, than to try to purchase a new car and have no money left over.

-I think they look very good
-They make just as much power as the proteges S model equals to a dx pro si is equal to a lx pro and vtec model is equal to the msp so what r u talking about?
-They are a good car to hook up
-uve probly raced a s model
- Ive seen plenty of supposedly hooked up proteges on this board so...?

The comment on the 495 hp one isnt to say its rare to get a car that high or that it shouldnt beat alot it was saying its not a girls car with 500 hp and nos its a girl getter. I dont care if people hook up hondas i myself like them as a car company. I would never hook one up but i wouldn't bash them because kids arn't original enough to try something different. I like seeing hooked up civics it makes my car more rare and it gets more respect. Aftermarket is switching with the entrance of the turbo neon pt cruiser MSP SVt focus and so on but they wont get off the hondas wagon intill people show more interest in actually modding there cars ( full carbon fiber front ends and trunk lids) they will sell common stuff for now intill we get more support ...Jon

i had this same argument on the 323 forums...funny thing actually...

anyways, my car comes stock with 86hp. ive added a few upgrades, and my guess is its running closer to 100hp now. i have raced a Del Sol Si three times in a row and wasted his *** all three times. the car was stock and mine was not.

now, there are only two logical explanations for this:

1) somebody got crazy with the 'Si' stickers

2) it was really an 'Si' and they didnt know how to drive

so you tell me, which one do you think it was? keep in mind the Del Sol Si is a 160hp car...

Theres no way to tell a si except it has rims and a spoiler if they are lucky the si DOES not have 160 hp The si has the same motor from the ex civic 1.6 sohc vtec 126 hp. The Vtec model del sol has a 1.6 dohc vtec and is the same one from the si civics 160 hp running mid to high 15's. U prob races a S model del sol or the si had the targa top off ....Jon
