2. the second thing that i have to fix is the front right spindle and replace the right lower control arm, right lower ball joint, ( if i do it my self which it will not been that hard it would cost me a couple hundred dollars. step 2 is done

3.I have to replace a brake line that leaks

4. i have to replace the clutch

Now to the parts that i don't have to have but would like:

5. new bpt motor $1200

6. New paint becuase of wreck $1000

7. Rims $500

8. body kit and painted $900

9.tubro goodies and engine goodies $500

10. then the exhuast (full custom) $300

GRAND TOTAL : about $5650
( but that would be the about everything that i would like to have for the 91 protege lx)

SO here is the ? what would you guys done. i love the protege but i could sale the car and take the almost 6000 dollars that i would have to spend on parts another things and buy something better! HELP me decide!

protege, definitly. gro harlem is right, get a new protege, if i wrecked my protege, i would repair it because i love her too much

i love the pro and i want to keep her, but i do not think that i have to get a new pro. y? the wreck was not that bad, the inner fender, fender, header light and blicker is gone. the inner fender can be fixed for almost free and the rest of the parts would be put on by me. i am still undecided. i do not know what to do. but my pro is not dead and i do have to buy a new one. well i will have to see if i get fired from my job and i will get back and see what i will do.

i think that i will like the smiles on people's faces when they see the race a 12 sec pro, more then the smiles on people's face when they see another 12 sec crx, civic, 5.0 something like that.

I can get you a big one!

And what is this "stuff" you keep on talking about??? You've "read some stuff and this stuff is a joke".........ok buddy. At least I now know that a High School diploma is not required to become a Honda technician.

and i'm an F-15 crew chief in the air national guard, so what's your point?! if you don't like mazdas, go back to your honda forum where you'll be useful, because you're obviously not contributing anything on this forum!

No, it's the 1.8 BP 6000RPM....

the upper model Protege here comes with a 1.8BP also, but it is DOHC

The B8 was in the smaller 323 hatchback though.

You sound like all the people who brag about being A+ and MSCE certified in my line of work!! They know nothing! I would not hire them if it was my choice.

You must never see the under-side of hondas cause they never break, right?

oh yeah, I will be as vauge as you, the experience I've had with honda technicians is a joke...

Anyways, I would glady replace my protege for another first-gen in case something happened, but this time I would get 5-speed. (Well I'd go for the mazdaspeed if I got that much money )

eh, say you kill 500 of that 6000 to blow on repairs... or maybe 600 or so for new clutch and new brake lines, i say do the engine swap, do a full exhaust with headers, highflow cat and 2.5 inch piping, put some lowering springs on that and rims and paint if you can swing it... then what are you left with? eh, a faster? sounds pretty sweet to me, but you might just get a better deal by buying a stick and stock first gen protege in fairly good condition, say under $3000, do some 15 or 16 inch rims, skip the body kit and do the engine swap and get the turbo goods you need... you'll have half of the look you wanted, but more ***** than you could bargain for. its all in the love for the protege, if you love it enough, do the work, if not, go get a mazda 626, mx6, mx3... errr well, don't go honda at any rate, the import scene is heating up around hear, and i'm the only ****** protege around here that actually has some work done, all the rest are acuras, toyotas or hondas.. so whatever you do, don't be like the others.

Everytime i think of hondas it just makes me think of when i was in 10 grade and i got the best shoes out. And i thought i would be cool cause i had them. Well noone gave a **** because everyone else had them. Whats the point of buying a car noone respects?. The civic era is done they are played out. I thought it threw before i bought my car and im def glad i didn't buy a ex civic . I hope ur Del sol is the Si or vtec model or its not even beating my stock protege. And it doesnt have power locks or a trunk release!. Im not hating on Hondas i think if ur looking for a good stock car to just drive buy a civic or accord they are nice but if ur looking to make a sleeper that runs a 12 fix ur protege and buy a bpt www.barelylegaltransplants.com ...Dont listen to ur narrow minded idiot civic buddies do what u want dont jump on the wagon ...Jon

Dude are you illiterate or something?!? Last time I checked, this site was called ProtegeClub not BragAboutYourHondaJob Club. I think we'd all be extreamely elated if you left.

And about not getting into a discussion about cars with you? You don't want me to get into a discussion about my detestation towards Hondas.

Heh.
