Idle problems!!!

Hey guys,

Ive got this problem with my 90 323 1.8 SOHC. When you pull up say to the lights the revs drop to about 450RPM then it comes back up to 750RPM and the car feels like its gonna stall!. Also when you turn the wheel and the power steering pump engages the revs dip and come up again. The problem seems to be worse when the lights are turned on.

Heres what ive done to try and fix it-
*Replaced ECU
*injectors cleaned
*timing reset with new plugs and leads
*intake manifold cleaned with all new gaskets
*pod style air filter
*throttle settings reset (throttle positioning sensor, base idle, idle mixture etc).
*emissons reset by adjusting the screw on the side of the airflow meter
*had the IAC valve checked and apparently its in working order
*New Fuel filter

So what the hell is it!!, ive had the problem since ive owned the car and i cant figure out what it is and it seems neither can anyone else!.

Any help would be great!
THANKS.

that same thing was happening to my car. I checked all that **** to. But then I searched this site, and found about holes in the intake hose. That was my problem. If i had only used the SEARCH BUTTON i could have avoided all that un necessary money spent and time it took me to type this.

There are no holes in the intake tube because i have just made my own custom intake and there are no holes in any other hoses. But the other day i picked up on an interesting thing..... the car idle was fine when it was running above 1/4 tank of fuel but when it went below that it started to do the dip thing.

In the haynes manual it mentions a low pressure filter inside the tank? could this possibly be it?

apparently from what I can gather, all of the first gens suffer from this problem to some degree.
see if you can make it happen more when you are turning right sharply.
