Exclamation Guys....

i DID come across a website that listed BOSAL headers for the SOHC!!.... the problemo is that for the life of me i can't find the site again. It was a Mazda-specific site......It listed them for like $87( retail was ~$130)

Maybe someone could contact Bosal directly and find out for sure whether its for real.

location

my uncle is yes, i was visiting my grandmothers at the time in St. Petersburg (she lives 10 blocks from Madiera beach) thats when i helped him build the motor, and on his next visit to me here in houston he brought the cam and i gave him the money, as for the info on the intake, i didnt know that.i did it cause i was strapped for cash. ill try to find somthing else, but moving the battery to the trunk adds ALLOT of room and its cheep to do. as far as head flowing is concerned i have a friend here in houston whos dad is a machinist and a skilled mechanic.. last i knew he had gotten a junkyard head and was going to get a good look at it and i am going to get the stock specs on it. to see what can be done, but this might take awhile...

i know double post.. i had a thought... would you be able to bolt the 1.6L SOHC head onto the 1.8 block??i am guessing that it has a smaller combustion chamber which would raise compression, but yet again maybe it has a much smaller flow capabilities and wouldnt be worth it... just a thought

Do you need a complete car to test for fitment, or would just the engine do?

I'm not interested in the headers, myself, as I'll be doing a DOHC swap within the next three months (with a bit of engine build up on the bottom end, and with miata cams).

However, I do have a SOHC engine sitting in my storage.

I found out the person that was going to make me a header didn't do very a good job at making them. I'm going to call around in the next few days to see if I can find someone else to make a header.
