Basically to remain in stock class you won't need competition tires. You will run street tires that are not below a treadwear rating of 140 from the last I heard.

Therefore get some sticky predictable street tires like the Bridgestone S-03's or some sticky *** Yokohamas.

As for wheels fitment. To remain in stock class you'll need to be within +/- 6mm in offset while retaining the same width. Assuming that the MSP's wheels are the same specs as the MP3.

Those stock figures should be 17,7 +55mm offset. You don't want to go higher offset as that would narrow your wheel track. So you go to a lower offset.

That would mean your limits would be about 49mm. Team Dynamics does produce a +50 offset lightweight wheel that I've been waiting on for a very long time. I will follow up on it Monday.

That fitment is an extremely difficult one to find. Depends on if you want to win. I say buy what's reasonable and functional. Don't worry about the classes and once you're good enough to win. You'll be able to afford class regulation wheels. Or you could do it right the first time. It will just limit your aesthetic options.

Hope this helps. Let me know if there's anything else. The only other thing you can do is change your struts. Springs remain the same. however they are custom valved so I wouldn't do it unless changing the springs as well.

That only applies if you are racing in a region that has a street tire class. Otherwise, if you want to compete with the ITRs, BMWs, and the occasional IS300 in DS, you need R-tires, such as Kumho V700 or Hoosier.

interesting. It must be different in SFR region. Regardless the wheel rules must still apply I am sure.

Rishie, do you have any more info on the Team Dynamics wheel? Specs, weight, pictures, prices? No rush, but I'm still curious about them since it's one of the few choices for a light stock-class wheel.

Rishi, are you talking about the Team Dynamics Pro-Race 1 wheel?
I sent in their little website form two weeks ago but haven't got a response yet.
Looks nice .. especially if it is available in +50.

Yes that would be the one. There is another that I'm looking into as well. But that would be the one to get. Lighterweight and stronger design than the Factory MP3 wheels.

I need to make a call to them this week and see what's going on. I couldn't get any answers at SEMA. I been waiting for this wheel since last SEMA. Frikin' sucks.

But soon I'm sure.

now my question is, can rishie get Spoon wheels? i want the ones that rota copied for the slipstream, in 15s..... yea i know they cost alot, but 8lbs each is sick!

I can get those wheels but there are other forged 15" wheels out there that are light as hell and better priced. Like the Volk CE28N. The TE's only behind by a pound and there's the Racing Hart CP035. Umm, panasports are real light. There's some more I just can't think of them right now.

If you're really interested I'll get pricing for you. I just don't see the economics of it. The 15" slipstream is like 11 or 12 pounds at the most and way cheaper. **** I'd buy 3 sets of slipstreams, hehe. And I'm a hardcore JDM forged wheel guy. I just don't like that they are so expensive. Even for a 15" forge.



On another note I believe that wheel to be in 4x100 only

lol yea, ill probably end up just buying the rota slip streams.... but you never know.... but 4x100 is fine for the car im using them on (my se-r) so no biggie...

ill make sure to contact you when im ready to buy them though... black 16inch rota slipstreams, 4x100 (i believe thats what the sentra se-r uses) with a 45 offset.... what am i looking at price wise, also i will need a nice set of kumho tires at as wide as i can use, 215/40/16 i guess...

Rishi: you realized that the spoon wheel you posted in the picture has 5-bolt? Then you said it was only available in 4 .. hehe

Argh ... it's hard to get any good info on Rota wheels around here. Do their new models have a big enough center bore for MP3/P5 ? (A set of Sub Zeros a local shop tried to fit on a friend's car were only Honda-size center bore).

Hmm .. Racing Hart CP-035 .. only $900CDN for a 15" hahaha
