Kargoboy's new rims.
I'm so embarassed that it took this long. Kargo sent me his stockers to have powdercoated during the winter. As everyone is aware I'm sure I hit a lot of delays and was doing a lot of work in the meantime. By the time I got around to actually working on the wheels for him my sandblaster gave out and my air compressor doesn't have enough volume to work with larger units. I tried everything I could think of to get the wheels stripped but ended up having to get alocal blaster to rip them down for me. Long story short I took WAY too long in getting these back to him but I hope he likes it. He's been very patient with me and understanding of my delays.
Thanks,
Matty
p.s. This is a 90% gloss using Black Magic Powder. The spots you see on the rims are dust particles. I gave it a light misting with windexto knock off the dust. The rims still attract a bit from the charging but will clean up nicely with a little bit of wax.
Thanks,
Matty

thanks, My wife saw them for the first time today and said she wants her 18" RX8 wheels done the same way. It would look real good on a black car with dark tint....maybe I'll do those here shortly and post some more pics.

p.s. I still have the center caps here but they are plastic and can't be coated. If you want them sent back I'll throw them in the box...if not I'll just hang onto them here in case I break one of mine. Just let me know.

There is a silver RX8 here that has had that done and it looks very nice. Good work on those too.

w0000000000000000000t!
I knew it would be worth the wait. Beautiful job! Soon as I get 'em on my car I'll be posting pics.
Can I have them picked up Monday??
Now I need to decide---Yokos or Kumhos.
I need to order tires on Monday. too...
And tint. I can't have black rims w/o tint!

they can be boxed back up for pick up on monday. do you have the original address they were dropped off to? That's where they can be picked back up.
I say Yokohama AV tires. I rode in Lukes car with them and they were scary grippy.

Man...they turned out nice!!
I think when I get my aftermarket wheels, you're gonna do my stockies a ridiculous color....like blue or lime green....I'm serious.
That set will be my track set....so I have an excuse for them to be outlandish.

i didn't say it wasn't possible. I said I didn't know how well the powder would fill in the letters engraved on the wheel. I'll do anything you want but I can't promise how it'll turn out right there.
