Car Insurance Question

I have a question concerning car insurance that maybe somebody on the forum with more knowledge of the laws can answer for me. My family has 2 insured cars but 3 drivers. There is no designated driver for any particular vehicle so the 3 drviers are always alternating vehicles. Does each vehicle need to have all 3 drivers insured on it, or is it sufficient that the vehicle itself is insured under the owner's name? One insurance agent once told me that its sufficient for the vehicle itself to be insured, but I'm not sure if this is true. Can anybody provide some insight on the matter please?

Thanks

In Manitoba, they don't ask who drives the car... everything just falls on the registered owner if an accident occurs... doesn't matter who's driving!! Hope this helps, but again, I'm not sure if it's the same in Quebec.
