Joe, are the specs available on the Protege motors that you guys build? HP, TQ, etc. Are they based on the FS-DE or FS-ZE motors?
Now where would I get to if I gave those numbers out? Unemployment line...... LOL

But yes the engines run about $17,000. They make about double the HP that they do stock. We have Espenlaub's car at the shop waiting to go off to the bodyshop. I still can't seem to talk them into a rip up the street in it. I may have some other info concerning cheap used parts but I can't say any more than that. And no Trav doesn't know either. LOL I can be bought though.

I figured that much, lol. Was always worth asking. Can you at least give out what base motor is used .

Here shortly, we may be bringing two or three GM quad-4s to you guys for a freshening...about 20 hrs each on them. I've heard nothing but good words about you guys' work.

Q4's are sweet little engines, lots of potential. 220 at the ground...damn, tell me if that wouldn't be nice ...especially in a car with the weight and balance of a Fiero

The three we have were used in a (now retired) world challenge Olds Calais. I think they were dynoed at 230 at the crank. I can't remember the name of the guy who originally built these engines to save me (he's dead now anyway).

not too bad it's a 60 second course.. i've got -ROCKHARD tires on 18s and inexperiance and pulled a 61, Joe with decent tires and plenty of experiance pulled in a MUCH BETTER 57 second time in his Focus. and was able to help a friend of ours drive their Porshce 993 from a 68 down to a 62!! thats a HUGE gain! there is another run dec 1st.. i'll be there.. and hopefully with less bouncy front end, the mid engine makes for fun slides but it's a handful!

Dang..I totally missed you guys. There were three P5's there, only one of which was running. I thought yall were going to be running a P5. Oh well.

I turned out a low 62 (2/10's out of second place in HS). I didn't expect much better from an 88HP automatic slug, heh.

Damn it was cold! (about 45 with a constant 15-25mph wind). It was hard to get any traction with such temps.

I won't be able to make it to the Dec. 1st event, but I'll be there for Dec. 15th. If I don't get a Mazda powered Escort by then, I'll be co-driving an older SI.
