dang...i didnt' even see this thread, heh...guess i'll go delete my post, lol.

I look forward to seeing ya there. My escort will be making it's last stand before I sell it and go with a 1.8L model. If for some reason I don't run it, I'll be running my P5 (on street tires, ugh).

You wouldn't by chance be able to pull any strings for a extra set of wheels/tires that I could borrow for the Pro, eh? :D

That map looks REALLY close to the event I ran up there a couple months ago. Good luck. I'll be trying to make an Atlanta even every once in a blue moon.
If I'm not mistaken, it's the same exact map that they used when you were here. I beleive they stated it was one of the "faster" courses they used during the season, hence the choice.

Hope to see some of you there.. !

Nah, the turns by "left field" of the baseball diamond are different, as are the offsets near the beginning.
Oh I see, well, it's one of the one's from the summer, heh. June sticks out in my mind for some reason. But anyway....

Hope to see some of you there.. !
So, 1FSTM26, what about those wheels/tires? :D

Yes this course was used before in the summer. It's a great time.

You should come down if nothing more than to see the new test pieces for the Protege that we are working on.

BTW - I'm Joe. I work at a local shop that is very capable of making these cars fast. For references you could look at the Speed Channel World Challenge Cars. I'd like to meet a few of you in person if possible to see what you think about the direction we are taking this.

Thanks Guys and looking forward to meeting with you.

Hi Joe. You wouldn't by chance be with OPM would ya?

EDIT: Ignore that, I just saw the link to the Sunbelt site

I believe that's what he's implying I cant think of too many other companies in the Atlanta area that have an active role in the SpeedVision Touring cars.
True...well, now I have even more of a reason to be at this weekend's event, heh. We do a bit of buisness with them at work. They prepped an Olds Calais for us and are now doing an MR2. My boss placed third with one of their Miatas in the last SCCA event at RA (previous to the AARC).

Still have yet to figure out what OPM stands for..the only thing that comes to mind is Other People's Money ;) j/k.

1FST2M6 November-13th-2002 07:17 AM

he's not with OPM Optimum Performance Machine

hes with the guys that make all their stuff. actually he's the guy.. CNC machinists and dyno tuning freak! ;)

1FST2M6 November-13th-2002 08:05 AM

affirmative... he has the tooling to do that. among other things.. he can squeeze over 400hp out of a N/A VG30. and can drive the dog-doo out of his Focus on the weekends.

DevlynSyde November-13th-2002 08:36 AM

I'll try to make it out there, but I'll be in some rental, we'll see what it is. But I'm interested in seeing some other P5s while mine is in the shop getting half of it replaced.

kcbhiw November-13th-2002 09:32 AM

Joe, are the specs available on the Protege motors that you guys build? HP, TQ, etc. Are they based on the FS-DE or FS-ZE motors?

1FST2M6 November-13th-2002 09:36 AM

they make over 200hp... tach up instanly -like my motorcycle- and have NO torque flat spots. you too can have one.. $17,000 plus shipping.

kcbhiw November-13th-2002 10:14 AM

$17,000 plus shipping.
Yeah, that's what I've heard, heh. When it comes down to winning, it's worth it. It'd certainly be nice to have one, but paying for the car alone is enough for me.

1FST2M6 November-13th-2002 10:17 AM

yeah that what i said when i found out how much it was... to rich for my blood. but MAN are they sweet..
