Website Improvement Nomination
This is a great forum/place that I go to each and every day. I would just like to ask if this site can add the function of adding .gif or.jpeg files without having to go through the lengthy hassle of using imagescan or anywhere else?
You have my nomination. Do I hear a second?

only one problem with that......if all 2000+ members could upload images.....can you even begin to imagine how much storage/bandwidth that would consume? a lot....and that cost money. I don't think it fair to ask the owner of this board to assume that financial burden when there is a way for each of us to accomplish loading an image into the site via a link, and at no cost to him.

SIR NUKE
I had asked a while ago about the possibility of you guys sinking due to a loss of bandwidth.
The response was that you guys were swimming in bandwidth and that it would take an internet catastrophy to shut you down.
First of all, serveral people have figured out how to load .gifs and .jpegs into a post already and no one says boo about it.
Second of all this feature could limit the total file size per post to 200k.
I have seen websites come and go but using imagescan is bogus at best. I don't know if you are the webmaster, but it's someones JOB to maintain this website and innovation/ease of use should be an ongoing task.
I am just providing feedback to this forum for the need/want of easier image posting. I am not trying to force the sites owner into a lower tax bracket.

I feel that there is not a problem in loading the pics on your own server and have them linkified when you post. I personally use my own ISP provided webspace for my pics. Most ISPs allow some disk storage with their service. Not sure about AOhell or MSN though. Never tried imagestation or geocities, but it seems like they suck also. I am sure that there are other places that allow you to store some pics and link to them without having to post the link in a new browser window.

Just open a Yahoo! photo album and make it public. I don't know if you can directly link pictures, but they're only 1 mouse click away.
As and IT person, I understand why it would be a bad idea to be able to load pictures at will. I wouldn't feel right asking whomever is hosting this great site to set aside a few extra gigs of storage for pictures that we can post somewhere else. While it may be a burden the way it is used now, I don't feel like pushing my luck. I'll use my yahoo photos account, thanks.
