Loser In A Civic
#17
Sorry, 95LSTypeII
I got the poster's name wrong. Let me set things straight.
No hard feeleings. It was an honest mistake!
If you are doing an engine swap in a Civic, I agree with 95LSTypeII.
If I were the one doing it I would swap for the CRV motor. It has mad torque down low for a Honda and if I am not mistaken will accept parts from the B18. Can you correct me on this one, njaremka?
I have friend who just dropped a CRV engine in his Civic DX hatchback. He dropped his 1/4 mile time by 1.2 seconds because of the torque and launch off the line.(I think it could drop more than that but his racing skills, blow) No other mods besides his exhaust except the swap.

I apologize, I misinformed y'all on something.
H22's are becoming easier to do for mainting a/c and p/s. There is a shop in Florida that notches the frame *uni-body, blah blah blah* to make room for condensor, etc. The weight of the engine is still an issue and I would not go with this swap but it IS possible.
*another thing, CRV/turbo isn't all that common either.

It would work well for a hatch considering they're the lightest of the lineup. The B16 is quite anemic on torque, something pathetic like 110 or something, while it's 155hp @ the flywheel. Fortunately for them, they're right there with the B18C1 as far as aftermarket support goes.
They have more parts for that thing than practically any other car.
I had a 5th gen Civic coupe *EG1* with a B18C1 with completely stock exhaust *don't know how I managed that* with a 5 angle ported and polished head. Ran high 14's completely stock. I recommend that engine over the B16 but, hey, whatever floats his boat. *Or he could go with the JDM B16 which has more hp and torque to work with.
If he wants to go all out bad ***, go with CRVTec.
