My civic race from a while ago

I've raced twice in my life, once against a civic, and once against what i think was a 300ZX

late at night tho, like 3, hehe, we stopped, he looked so proud cuz he had rims, otherwise the civic looked stock, so he motioned to me to race, i nodded my head as in ok, and i revved to redline, and when the lights went green i let it go, the burnout that i done was awesome, the civic had an auto, so he took off, but i stayed doing about a 2 - 3 sec wheel spin.....damn it was sweet, and when the wheels gripped, the car took off, a quick shift to second, then i shift to 3rd when 2nd redlined, ha and i was right behind him, damn it was sweet, i passed him in 4th, he had nothing on me!!!, hehe, we hit about 140km/h, then i slowed down, I was about 1 - 2 car lengths in front of him, then i slowed down to 80km/h, speed limit was 60km/h, and he passed me, hehe, he seemed pissed off, lol, i went down the street a little further, and he was pulled over by cops...LMAO!!!

NOW I GET IT!!!

In the U.S. the Civic Si is pretty powerful.
The Si I am talking about is the Canadian one.
So simply put.
Si in Canada is = to EX in the U.S.
So this whole time I was talking about your EX.
Anyways, I finally did get a chance to race my friends Civic EX, he had a manual, and I was sitting pretty with an auto. Where we chose to race wasn't exactly prime location, (a church parking lot)
but it was good enough. Since I was in an auto, I figured the only way I could get a good lauch was to hold the brake down, and rev the engine. I mashed the Brake, and rev the engine to about 3000rpm, on 3, we both slamed the gas. To my surprise My car shot off almost a half car length past my friends EX. I kept that lead for a second or 2, until he popped his car into second, he started to pull alongside my car, and it was around then that I began to brake. The parking lot wasn't very long, I got up to maybe 55kph before I started braking, my friend was a little more ambitious than I was, so he delayed braking for another second, so of course he passed me.

I wasn't even able to go redline in my car since the auto controlled all of that. Also, my friend has an exhaust and a ractive intake, I'm running stock right now, unless you consider Altezza's to be a performance mod. It was sort of an inconclusive race to me, I would like to have raced him to at least 140kmh. Well, if anyone can tell me their experieces with a Civic EX, pplz feel free to share. I would love to find out some 1/4 mile results.

Well, I don't know about 3rd gens, but I know my first gen LX 5-spd was able to beat a Civic Si 5-spd back in December when I bought my car. For some really odd reason, my car was able to spin tires going into second, and chirp going into third from the minute I pulled it off the car lot. Oh well. At least now they local Civics don't really stand a chance. Now I'm after the local V-8's.

Man! Your car sounds pretty fast. Do you have any pics of your car? I would like to see them.

hey 4drmiata, that is quite an impressive list of mods you have!
Have you run it at the track yet? I'm curious what your 1/4 time is.

well, i wouldn't say the Si isn't that weak in Canada. Ive been in sentra forums (SE-R Spec V) and read their racing forums, and a guy lost to a SiR (Hatchback), the new model, which is pretty ugly, i guess, ehehe i even looks worse when you put lowering springs on it. Well, in short, the new SiR is light and fast.
