Kickin' Civics

It's nice kickin' Civic around. No offense but after beating them, one feels sorry for them cuz y'all rides are 1.8 NA. Moreover, the Civics you guys kicked are 1.6 SOHC VTEC. Those sorry a$$ Civic guys.
Next I'd love to hear stories from you guys kickin' 1.6 DOHC VTEC. I believe the Si. A friend of mine finished his swap with the 1.8 Turboed BPT powerplant and kicked his friend's Si 1.6 DOHC VTEC by a car and half lengths 3 times! Then again, 1.8 Turbo vs. 1.6 DOHC VTEC isn't fair is it? Kinda feel sorry for the Honda friend.
Then you have another group of Hondas sporting Type R engines. They are a big contender to the 1.8 turboed Protege. Based on my 1.8 Turob Protege friends, they said those stock Type R couldn't beat us in 1/4 mile cuz their VTEC open above 5000rpm while our OE turbo kicks in at 3000rpm. IMHO, I don't think the stock Type R could beat us in 1/4 mile cuz the turbo kicks in way earlier than the VTEC. We'd be long gone by the time the Type R guys are stomping their pedal.
Then you'd have another group of Turbo Type R. Hehehe.....we'll see who's got more green backs to dump into the engine for a street racing.
Anyway, safety first!

Good luck guys!

why does everyone have beef with Honda? all these honda bashing threads reak of envy. if you beat a honda in a race, good for you, but don't think all civics suck or that they're all slow. i'm no particular fan of the 'H' badge, but i can at least respect the fact that there are PLENTY of fast civics around.

if i'm not mistake the stock Type R runs 14s in the 1/4 mile. so, you better turn the boost WAYY up if you wanna be a contender.

I've not street raced with any Hondas yet. I'm JUST being impartial here and JUST typing what other friends of mine are saying.
By all means, I have respect for Hondas cuz my first car was a 90 Integra sedan. Once one has moved up to turbo, one woulnd't wanna drive a naturally aspirated (NA). I'm also respecting PLENTY of fast Hondas. I'm with you man! It's just the owners' attitude. Anyway, I'm in the middle and I don't take sides. Kapisch? Thank you. Cheers it's Friday. TGIF....Thank God It's Friday.

Any pics of your ride? I'd love to see your work and the mods. Once again, please note that I have the utmost respect for Hondas but it's just the driver you see. After all, a car won't drive itself w/o the driver. I have a couple of Si friends who wants to race with me but I refuse cuz we are friends. I don't wanna create any hard feelings after a run. I'm an autox person so skills is more important for me in terms of autox. I personally hate draggin' and braggin'. Just to clarify things, my post was just some braggin' stories my friends are telling me. They are the ones kickin' Civics. As for me, it's not fair to race with a 1.6 vs 1.8. I guess people in the States think differently since after The Fast & the Furious.

Peace with Hondas and all makes!

Can you post the pix on this forum? Like to see it.
Oh just to give you some idea of some Honda action here in South East Asia.
Some guys here dropped a F20B (CRV) engine into an EK4 Civic body. Pretty powerful for a power-to-weight-ratio. Here's another example. EG chassis with H22A bored to H23A. How about this : EK4 chassis with F20B block coupled with B16A head.
Above are some of the examples. Haven't got into details about the internals but be sure that the mechanicals are fully balanced and ported & polished wherever necessary.
