Hey don't they also offer a 2.8T in some Audis? Is that in any VWs as well? What numbers do those produce?

I know they have a 2.8, but I'm not sure if they have a turbo on it. I haven't heard anything about it. None in the V-dubs though. But they are bumping up th HP to 200-201 for 2003. VR6 that is.

The Audi S4 is a 2.7T (250hp 258tq)

Oh, and a stock 1.8T Jetta will walk a protege MP3, in a straight line.

Oh okay, yeah, it was a 2.7T instead of the 2.8, got them mixed up. I'm pretty sure that they offer that engine in an A6 as well I think. Those are really nice numbers by the way. The engine in the Lamborghini Murcielago has been toyed with by Audi I hear, hehe, imagine one of those in a VR6..errr VR12 hehehe

The 1.8T engine used in 99-01 Jettas was factory rated at 150hp But dyno close to 150, as mentioned above. In 02 VW bumped up the output of the VR6 from 176 to 201, and also upped the 1.8T to 180hp, similar to the origanal TT's engine. The only change to the 1.8T engine was slightly different timing characteristics and a less restrictive intake, meaning that the earlier 1.8T's most likely made nearly that power to begin with. VW will admit it now that the VR6 is stronger

A VW Beetle Turbo S pulled up to me yesterday and I backed off, not accepting his offer to race. No man's masculinity is ready for the crushing force of getting rocked by a Beetle!

Stay the hell away from 1.8T's. Indeed the cars they employ are usually above 3000 lbs (I can't think of one that is not), yet their 185 lb/ft of torque yanks the pavement at just above idle. I have seen an Eclipse GS-T's swallow its pride at the hands of a Turbo S
