Ever run against Si(R)'s?

i would say the same about the p5 handling better than the si. anyhow is the si in ur area dohc vtec? or just a sohc? just wondering cuz if i race my p5 next to a stock si i could get smoke for about 1-2 cars and he will still pull on me and this is in 3rd gear.

I can't beat him off the line. But with lots of turns in the road I can keep up with him. When he follows I can slowly get some distance from him. There's no doubt his car is faster, but mine handles better. We haven't tried from a running start yet to to see who can get more speed from 100km/hr but I think we'll give that a try sometime. My guess is at the top end, we'll be very close.

yeah on the turns i'd say u can take him or maybe a head to head race on the corners but on the top end i'd say the si will 2-4 cars a head of u....thats how slow p5's are. I have a 323 which can take a stock si about a car or 1/2 a car length but not my p5. That is y i have my p5 covered outside in the driveway and i dont like to drive it just cuz of it being so slow. If only i knew about that MSP then bfore i bought the p5...Damn!

i eat the old si's for breakfast. the old non v-tec ones without turbos. the high school kids that think si is the fastest thing ever made.
but i wont touch the newer ones or sleepers until mine is turbo. unless maybe we were on twisties, then maybe i have a small chance.

Just accept it guys. Are P5 is slow...there is no way you can beat a Civic SI unless you have a really bad driver in the Civic. Are car may handle good for a FWD but hands down the Civic SI can still kill us in the twisties with its extra power at the high revs. Our car just runs out of breath after 5k rpm while the SI starts breathing around there.

Sure are a lot of guys with Turbo Proteges. I guess it won't be hard for me to be the fastest all motor Protege in North America. I've only ever had the oportunity to race one Civic Si(ex in the states), and I beat him.

For all the Americans out there...a little history. Canada has always had the Civic Si. When they stopped making them in 95, I believe, they still had them here. Our Si, was your Ex. When you guys got the Si in, 97 I believe, they called ours the Si-R. 1.6DOHC Vtec. Baleedat.

when i was out in ohio, my friend had a brand new SI. we were going down this one road with curves (fun road) anyways, definately no challenge. but the best part was after the race.
