Yea, the EVO is a sweet car, and is the sti, and the regular wrx...

Perhaps with the higher parasitic loss of the AWD would make the race between the turbo pro and the evo closer than you'd think.... Didn't the one turbo kit people (hiboost???) run a 13.8 in the 1/4??? If so, no doubt a fast turbo pro could run with the evo. Especially if it's only .3ish behind in the quarter without the advantage of the awd launch!

I found the thread, it ran a 14.049 @ 105mph... I bet the car could keep up with the evo on the top end.

Yea, but that 105mph is really good for a 14 flat 1/4 time. Now if the EVO traps around the same speed, and is .5 faster in the 1/4, it's top end has to be not nearly as good as the protege's because it gets it's time advantage from the launch. If you get a cleaner launch, you should be able to trap higher, but not neccesarily the case if it's AWD because of the drivetrain loss.

I'd really like to see an evo's full timeslip, and compare it with the hiboost prototype car's timeslips...

The 60' time will be MUCH faster on the EVO, therefore the evo will probably have a good 3-car head start off the line, but the Protege would have to reel it back in to make up that much of a difference in times.

But I'm just guessing without seeing any timeslips from either car, but IMO, I really think a turbo protege could hang with and/or pull on an evo in the top end... A stock EVO 8, that is.

But I could very well be wrong, too

off the line , the protege would not get as good a start, but once things get going , I think it should keep up with it ....

remember I said that the evo's factory at the track were running, 13.6-13.8 and they were launching with minimal tire spin (4wd) and mind you there were like 6 evo's at the track running and maybe another 7 in the damn parking lot ..

Only one guy with the silver EVO, was running CONSISTENT 12.0's .... maybe a 12.1 once.. and my friend at the track told me he had 1,000 bucks worth of mods...
He was also running race gas , As I saw him buy it...

****, call me stupid, i'm just finding out about the evo8 for the first time, and i had no freaking clue what the hell an evo was 2 seconds ago. 271 peak hp, 16 to 19 psi of boost, awd, 0to60 in 5 seconds... does the MSP even compare??? are these limited production like the msp?
peace

You can do a lot with $1000 in mods on a turbo car. CAI, Boost Controller, bigger downpipe and exhaust and you can EASILY shave shitloads of time off your et.
