its a GSR .. not a celica .. the celica's except for I think one , would barely get past 15.5 or so ...
thus the reason why I posted the link to the site ......

scroll to the bottom .. yeah the gsr has some mods .. but it's nothing crazy

The new Vr6 is a beast 200Hp,200 lbs of torque stock with 24 valves. The sound of that engine is pure sex. I drove the older 12 valves vr6 in a swaped 1990 golf and I almost came in my pants... The sound the engine made was real strong it made the sound of a V8 but the engine is fluid on the top end and act like a 4 bangers. They can do stock the 0-60 mph in 6.5 sec. with a good driver and the difference between the auto box or the manual tranny is small. The big difference in the number with vw is that the lost of the drivetrain is really low most people on dyno are rate at 190 Hp and 190 of torque at the wheel. With the mazda speed your probably at 148-150 hp and forget it about the torque because your amount at the flywheel was already small.

I just looked at my friends Vr6 Colladro?? is that the right name
it does not have a turbo
however, it has ofcourse the V6 engine
He had installed a HUGE intake with a monsterous sound, which I LOVE, lowered it , short shifter and rims.

Damn, that car picks up and handles
He once floored it bad that the engine mount broke and flew through the hood. That engine, has POWER.

:drooling:

you mean the ''corrado'' they come with the G60(1.8l 8 valves supercharged) and the old vr6(12 valves 172HP 180 tqs). Yes they are strong engine because they where first made as an diesel engine in the mid 80s so all the component on the old vr6 where first design to substain the pressure of diesel fuel. Thats the main reason why they can take a lot of mods without danger. Some people know more than me about this engine but it was also design to fit in small car first design for a 4 bangers so the block is small for a 6 cylinder.

the Vr6 is a nice top end car but not many people really like to visit ticket land very often...
I would take the 1.8t over most of the other cars , but not in the Jetta ... I like the Audi .. To me Jetta's are no different from Protege's ...
Theres alot of 6 cyls that make under 200 hp. For example look at the 03 Tibby with its 170hp 2.7L, BMW 325i with its 184hp 2.5, or a 03 Ford Mustang 3.8 rated at 193hp.

As for Jettas and Golfs being like Proteges that is faults. I worked for a VW/Mazda dealer for a couple of years. Mazdas quality is a hell of lot better then VWs but VWs have better traded in value then the Protege.
