1st 2 races in the msp pro

im pissed.... i raced my buddys gti vr6 in my new mazdaspeed protege, i had him off the start and then he switched into second and was right next to me, we were right next to each other up until third gear when he pulled in front and ended up beating me by about 2 feet....my car is faster then him whats the ******* deal...ANYWAY, then i raced a 94 honda delsol si vtech, beat him off the start, beat killed him into second and as soon as i was in third i was gone, i think i beat him by like 3 car lengths, i was a little happier but still disapointed...whatever 1 for 2 isnt bad

A good driver in a VR6?

The VR6 motor is incredibly strong. If your buddy gets a nice launch, which is hard with those cars, he'll get you most of the time.

Subaru is saying 1000 miles breakin on the STi...

What's this crap about 2-3 oil changes? That's over 5,000 miles... :stupid:
so your telling him to go ahead and redline the car ,, with only 2k on the clock ... that is what's stupid and even you know that ..
You have to let the car losen up and that takes about close to 20k to fully do ... even when I got my protege with 26k on it ,, the engine was not fully broken in ...

You know a lot but don't tell people about benzes ,, we don't drive benzes ... it's a mazda forum budddddddddy

20,000 miles? I don't think I have that even after 2 years with the P5.

Shiiiit, try 3 in my pro....I don't drive it at all

But, comapring the MSP with the VR6 Turbo....I would say the VW

Hell, I was just driving my friends VR6 earlier, and damn, it picked up bad....wow, comparing my 1.6L engine with this

But again, stats that were posted up, VR6 is a pretty good challenge and very strong in my opinion
I also think that the VR6 is in a higher league than the MSP, so just keeping up with him is very good

The VR6 doesn't come turbo, the 1.8L 4 cyl does... The 1.8T can get a bump of 20-30 whp and 40+ ftlbs of torque (approx, I'm pulling the numbers off the top of my head) for around $600.

A turbo VR6 would be a freaking monster.... a modded 1.8T and or turbo VR6 aren't anywhere close to the MSP engine... They're WAY faster.

I could've sword it was a V6 Turbo
Let me double check it when I get in the car next time
but I think you are right
because when I was driving it, I didn't hear the Hiss of the turbo
pick up because I revved it up to the redline
but still, regardless of turbo or not, the VR6 engine is a beast

it was the best few seconds in my life 0-60mph!!! in the VR6

well I havent seen a mazdaspeed race or been in one which is disappointing because ive been curious to see how it would do against some cars at the local races. But I know those vr6s are strong and have some nice torque.

honestly to me ... the VR6 is crap..... you have a V6 putting out what 179 ... and the umm Acura integra does the same hp NA in the GSR.... then if we really get ansy we have the Integra Type R with what 190 or 200 .. something like that ,,... NA ...
the Vr6 is a nice top end car but not many people really like to visit ticket land very often...
I would take the 1.8t over most of the other cars , but not in the Jetta ... I like the Audi .. To me Jetta's are no different from Protege's ...

Tq is nice , but I would not mind haveing the hp to deal with situations ... especially those times when you have to deal with them on highways at high speed ...
Tq is your friend but hp keeps your adrenaline going ...

you must be out your mind...
I have seen a ls teg run the quater in if I am not mistaken 15.5 or so ...
GSR is much faster .. and quicker .. and will burn a VR6 ...
ohh wait ... maybe you should stick to the autocross section ....
