14.0 Second Protege?

I'm not a Protege owner, but I figured this would be the best place to ask. There's a guy off my ship who has a 2000 ES 5spd, and today he happened to bug me for a race. I asked him what he runs in the 1/4, he hesitated, and said, "14 flat". The first words out of my mouth were "bullshit" and "you're an idiot", and I agreed to race him anyways. We're going out later tonight, but I was curious what a 2k ES 5spd would run with your usual bolt-ons. No offense to anyone here, but I highly doubt anyone would run less than a 15.0 with just bolt-ons. I'm going to race him anyways, and if he ran 14.0's he'd be right next to me with my nitrous on, but I wanted to see where I should really be at, and if I should even go for the bottle at all. Just curious. Thanks!

BS

IF he has NOS and a turbo maybe he would achieve those speeds. But with the usual bolt ons maybe low 16's, high 15's at best, and thats stretching it. Just another stupid ricer who thinks his intake adds 200hp. Go out and kill it tonight, and take it easy hahaha. Drive safe.

Hehe, I'm impressed. We never ran that night, and the next day I got cut off by an Eclipse on a 2-lane highway, hit the curb at 40+, and blew out a strut and strut mount. So until that gets fixed and I get 2 new front tires (a couple days), no racing for me. And to think, I'd just filled my bottle. He's making a big deal out of it, and being a pain in the *** too, saying I should race anyways. I'll race anyone, anytime for fun, and I like checking out almost every other car (except some of the honduhs cause that's been done to death), but when it gets like this, I lose interest. I say race for fun, not for **** size. But that's just me.

Hahaha, oh yeah, I got one of those special 2.2 L Pros too

Gotta love tires that are filled with N2O haha

Oh and Maxima guy, don't even bother bringing your bottle hehe

Leave it at home, you won't need it unless he's got a turbo

A stock 3rd gen Pro will run high 16s... bolt-ons, stickers, etcl will only put it at about 16s flat.... Just don't miss a gear and you'll be fine hehe good luck in spanking that cocky mo'fo'

Yeah, but as much of a pain in the *** as he's being about the whole thing, I want to make this one stick. I don't usually like to do that kind of thing, but he's asking for it. He'll also be the first to see how my upped shot performs.

i suggest you go out to you car and read the emissions tag, it sure isn't going to say "2.2L" or "134 cid" anywhere. I worked as a lot attendant at a Mazda dealer throughout 2K and 2k+1 and all I saw were 1.6, 1.8, and 2.0 liter powered cars.

my sense of humor has got me into more than one situation where i looked stupid.sh*t happens.
I once told a guy in my machinist class that i wanted to weld my boots sole so they wouldnt get apart again. He proceeded to tell me that welding leather and rubber was impossible.
I asked:'' even with a TIG welder??I heard they'd weld anything!''
He never believed me when I said I was kidding.
I think its better than showing off and in reality be ignorant and REALLY stupid..
