'03 Mazdaspeed Protege Changeover

I've decided that I will part out the setup IF I have a buyer for the turbo components AND the motor/trans. So if you're interested in just the turbo, tell your friends about the rest. Remember, it's a 2003 and has 18,000 miles on it. That's nearly new, and just broken in.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By far the most interest has been taken in the turbo components. As far as they go, it will include everything off the stock motor which includes:

-The Callaway turbo manifold and whole Garrett turbo assembly (I will try to include the fluid lines and as many of the sensors/electronics as I can)
-MSP Turbo Manifold Heat Shield
-Callaway Downpipes (both S and J)
-Intake Piping up to (and including) MAF
-MSP Side Mounted Intercooler
-Piping from blower to I.C. (with heat shield)
-Piping from I.C to throttle body.

If you bought all this from a dealership, expect to pay in excess of 4.5 grand. However, I dont expect to get that much. Send me personal messages with offers.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will sell the MSP 2.0 engine (with engine cover), 5 speed tranny, MSP Limited Slip Differential, and Drive Axles TOGETHER as one unit. This also includes the front sway bar bolted to the subframe. If anyone is interested, send me a PM. This will all still be bolted to the subframe and will come with the shifter linkages and shifter assembly. Anyone who gets this will be an EXTREMELY lucky and happy camper.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ECU and ECU wiring harness I will sell seperately from the motor/trans/differential. Make offers now.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will also sell the Brake Assemblies which will include Driver and Passenger Side:

-Spindles
-Hub Assemblies
-ABS sensors
-Brake Lines (with U clips)
-Rotors
-Calipers

Remember, they came off a 2003 MSP WITH ABS. This will be perfect for a rear brake conversion from drums to disks. If you currently have rear drum brakes and 4 lug hubs (most likely 4), I can tell you how to convert from a 5 hub assembly down to a 4 to maintain continuinty.

I ALSO have exactly what you need to make that conversion-- both passenger and Driver side Spindles and Hub Assemblies (includes drive axle hub nut) from a 1999 1.8 liter protege NON ABS. These spindles should fit on any 3rd gen. We can work out a price for those as well.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am also selling the front suspension. PM me (matty) with offers.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyone interested in buying the stock MSP Sparco Pedal assemblies (clutch, brake and gas) also make an offer.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, I'd much rather sell everything to you guys at mazda3club.com than to a bunch of punks at msprotege.com. My ears are bleeding already from their whiny smart *** comments.

That's all for now folks.

This is exactly why I'm bleeding from the ears...

I just got a PM from some kid on msprotege.com. I told him to make me a REASONABLE offer for the turbo components. He said 400 dollars shipped. I said that's not an offer that's an insult. It's a good thing I have a sense of humor.

By the way, even though I have agreed to part things out, I would still rather sell everything as ONE unit to someone who is interested.

I'm not interested in the suspension. I'm interested in the transmission and axles. With my unfortunate haltech incident yesterday I won't have any cahs top purchase anything anytime soon. The e-manage is setting me back almost $600.

03 Mazdaspeed Changeover

Updates:

I've had many requests to post prices. After much thought and a lot of phone calls to my local mazda dealerships, I've composed a very fair set of prices. Many of you that I have been in contact with may have already recieved this...if so if you'd like, you can read it again but nothing really has changed. This is a price list for everyone's reference:

Remember, you don't have to buy everything together. I wont part it out any further than how it is broken down on the list. If there's something on that list that catches your eye, get back to me and we'll talk.

I apologize if any of this is a reiteration.

-A little bit about the setup:
The entire unit was dropped out the bottom of a 2003 mazdaspeed protege with 18,000 original miles on it. The vehicle was purchased by an auto recycler based out of Kentucky with a salvaged title. The vehicle sustained major damage (enough to total it) to its mid passenger side, however the front end was untouched. I, in turn purchased the entire unit with plans to swap it into my 1999 5sp. 1.8 liter protege. It would have been one of the first, if not the first 1999 mazdaspeed conversions in the U.S.

-Why I'm selling it:
Swapping this unit onto a 1999 chassis is not as easy as you may think. There are numerous (too many to name) discrepancies that make conversions like these a real challenge. After a lot of preparation (making a schedule, reserving a lift, renting necessary tools, anticipating roadblocks and buying the parts to get around them), my lift ended up bailing on me, and I could not find anyone who was skilled enough with mazda wiring and electronics to help me. The wiring aspect-- i.e incompatibility of under-dash front end wiring harnesses was to be by far the most difficult part of this project. This project from the start was under a 3 and a halfweek deadline to get it off the garage floor. Needless to say with these two major issues, I wont be able to complete it in time. Even though the project is no longer being pursued, the deadline of getting this off the garage floor still exists.

My original hesitation to part out the engine was largely due to the fact that I wasn't positive that all the parts would sell within the time I need them to. The rig is currently taking up half of one of my garage bays. Because I have had a decent ammount of interest in various parts, I have decided that it would be feasible to part it out.

All the components (obviously) have 18,000 miles on it. That's nearly new, and just broken in. It's an incredibly clean setup and was covered by the dismantler with a 4 month all part warranty. Anyone who gets anything off this motor will be very happy. I'll include a copy of title with every major sale.

Below is a summary of what/how I am willing to part this out and the prices I am asking.

-A note about shipping: I had this shipped to my door in the greater philadelphia area from kentucky by R&L carriers. I got an extremely good rate from them. If you'd like me to look into having it shipped by them again I can. If you'd like to have a different company ship it, that's fine also. I'll try my best to find the shipping weight on the R&L receipt for your reference. Pickup can also be arranged.

---------------------------------------------------
By far the most interest has been taken in the turbo components. As far as they go, it will include everything off the stock motor which includes:

-The Callaway turbo manifold and whole Garrett turbo assembly (I will try to include the fluid lines and as many of the sensors/electronics as I can)
-MSP Turbo Manifold Heat Shield
-Callaway Downpipes (both S and J)
-Intake Piping up to (and including) MAF
-MSP Side Mounted Intercooler
-Piping from blower to I.C. (with heat shield)
-Piping from I.C to throttle body.

Everything is in nearly new condition. If you bought all this from a dealership, expect to pay in excess of 4 grand. However, thats a dealership price on a new unit. I'm asking $2800.

If you're looking to run more boost than the MSP's stock 6 psi, you can add a boost controller and run considerably more...just make sure your motor is internally built for it, and your air/fuel ratio is inline.

---------------------------------------------------

The MSP 2.0 engine (with engine cover), 5 speed manual tranny, MSP Limited Slip Differential, and Drive Axles are for sale TOGETHER as one unit. This also includes the front sway bar and motor mounts. Everything is still intact and will all still be bolted to the subframe. It also includes the shifter linkages and shifter assembly. Asking $3500

---------------------------------------------------

ECU and ECU wiring harness is sold seperately. The MSP ECU alone is $1000 new. I'm Asking $500 for it and the harness.

---------------------------------------------------
I will also sell the Brake Assemblies which will include Driver and Passenger Side:

-Spindles
-Hub Assemblies
-ABS sensors
-Brake Lines (with U clips)
-Rotors
-Calipers

Asking $400

Remember, they came off a 2003 MSP WITH ABS.

For those of you who aren't lucky enough to have rear disks, I also have exactly what you need to make the conversion from drums to disks-- both passenger and Driver side Spindles and Hub Assemblies (includes drive axle hub nut) from a 1999 1.8 liter protege NON ABS. These spindles should fit on any 3rd gen. $150 for both.

---------------------------------------------------

The MSP front suspension is also for sale, asking $350 for them together.

---------------------------------------------------

Anyone interested in buying the stock MSP Sparco Pedal assemblies (clutch, brake and gas) please contact me. The clutch and brake assemblies include everything (including sensors) up to the firewall but the hydraulic cylinders. The Gas assembly includes everything up to the throttle cable. See the pictures on the thread.

I have one complete set (clutch, brake, and gas) $150

I also have an incomplete set (Brake, and Gas). Would be excellent for an automatic trans. $75

Why one incomplete set? The dismantler originally forgot to send me the clutch assembly (thus making it an incomplete set). After calling him to talk to him about it, he sent me another complete set to correct his mistake.
---------------------------------------------------

The sum total of all these parts (excluding the 1999 spindle/hub assembly, and the incomplete pedal set) is $7650. If you're looking to buy everything as one unit, I'd be willing to drop it down. I've made a lot of phone calls to the local mazda dealership to price quote and though long and hard about fair pricing for these items for both ends. You're more than welcome to call your local mazda dealership to price quote for yourself. Get back to me with your parts requests, questions, or offers. Thanks again.

OK, so it appears that little interest has been taken in the parts at the prices I previously listed. So, with that in mind, I have re-composed the list to fit some of the suggestions I have received. These prices are considerably lower than before...after calculating it all out, this is the lowest I can go without it being a total loss on my investment. I'm just trying to make you guys happy. Anyway, here is the REVISED list:

TURBO COMPONENTS
As far as they go, it will include everything off the stock motor which includes:

-The Callaway turbo manifold and whole Garrett turbo assembly (I will try to include the fluid lines and as many of the sensors/electronics as I can)
-MSP Turbo Manifold Heat Shield
-Callaway Downpipes (both S and J)
-Intake Piping up to (and including) MAF
-MSP Side Mounted Intercooler
-Piping from blower to I.C. (with heat shield)
-Piping from I.C to throttle body.

I'm asking $1800

---------------------------------------------------

The MSP 2.0 engine (with engine cover), 5 speed manual tranny, MSP Limited Slip Differential, and Drive Axles are for sale TOGETHER as one unit. This also includes the front sway bar and motor mounts. Everything is still intact and will all still be bolted to the subframe. It also includes the shifter linkages and shifter assembly. Asking $3000

---------------------------------------------------

ECU and ECU wiring harness is sold seperately. The MSP ECU alone is $1000 new. I'm Asking $400 for it and the harness.

---------------------------------------------------
I will also sell the Brake Assemblies which will include Driver and Passenger Side:

-Spindles
-Hub Assemblies
-ABS sensors
-Brake Lines (with U clips)
-Rotors
-Calipers

Asking $250

Remember, they came off a 2003 MSP WITH ABS.

For those of you who aren't lucky enough to have rear disks, I also have exactly what you need to make the conversion from drums to disks-- both passenger and Driver side Spindles and Hub Assemblies (includes drive axle hub nut) from a 1999 1.8 liter protege NON ABS. These spindles should fit on any 3rd gen. $125 for both.

---------------------------------------------------

The MSP front suspension is also for sale, asking $275 for them together.

I have one complete set (clutch, brake, and gas) $50

I also have an incomplete set (Brake, and Gas). Would be excellent for an automatic trans. $35

Front End Clip

I almost forgot: The entire front end clip-- minus the parts listed above is being sold for $3600. Since I'm feeling pretty ripped off, I'm open to offers that exceed that ammount from anyone as long as you have the money up front. PM me if you're interested.
