Complete 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege Drop-Out. Includes the following:

-MSP 2.0 Engine (with engine cover)
-MSP 5 Speed Manual Transmission
-MSP Limited Slip Differential
-D & P side Drive Axles
-Callaway Turbo Manifold with Garrett Blower (includes all turbo components)
-Callaway Downpipes (both S and J pipes)
-Stock Intercooler with all intercooler lines and piping
-ECU and ECU wiring harness
-Front Suspension (including front sway bar)
-Motormounts
-Shifter Assembly and Shifter Linkages
-Driver side and passenger side brake assemblies-- includes spindles, ABS sensors, brake lines, hub assemblies, rotors, and calipers
-Also including MSP Sparco Gas, Clutch, and Brake Pedal Assemblies
-MSP Subframe

This setup was dropped out of a salvaged title 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege that sustained totalable damage to it's mid passenger side. The front end was untouched. The car (and thus this setup) has 18,000 original miles on it. Everything was dropped out of the bottom and is still intact on the subframe as a whole unit. It is currently sitting on a pallet in my garage. I have a copy of the car's title and will include it with everything. This is an extremely clean drop-out. I'll post pictures soon. shipping will be close to $300. I paid emloyee pricing for an engine block from PA to AL and it was $180 for just he engine...no exhaust or tranny or axles subframe et....actually I'd expect closer to $400-500 for shipping.

Hey, so is this basically a front clip? I'm kind of interested in it either way, and I'm in Jersey so I could probably just come and pick it up to avoid shipping. I'm curious to see pics. Also, PM me with how much you were hoping to get for it...

this is a direct bolt in swap....if you have a car lift you could just take out your axles, drop the whole subframe (up to the midpipe) and slide the new one right in...throw the new axles in and swap ecu's and you're done. This is a 6 hour job tops.

All right, here we go...

First, some info you all should know:

I planned for this setup to be swapped into my 1999 1.8 liter 5 sp. protege. I was going to do the complete changeover conversion. I've had the setup for a little over 3 weeks. The past 2 weeks I've been waist deep trying to work out all the details (finding an available lift, renting tools, creating a schedule, anticipating roadblocks and buying needed parts to get through them). The past couple of days I've been trying to get the whole hub/spindle and brake assembly converted to fit on my '99. Conversions are not easy. Trying to sort out the stupid little compatibility issues with every single freakin small ass detail makes your brain hurt. The lift I had lined up bailed on me, so now its up in the air (no pun intended) as to where I can get my existing subframe dropped out, and my car lowered onto the new one. Looking forward a few weeks this is going to be one headache after another, after another, and another. Getting the setup dropped in is the easy part, but the real ass kicker is everything after that. The wiring compatibility is going to be considerably more difficult than I anticipated, looks like a decent ammount of cutting and splicing, soldering, heat shrinking, and so forth. Considering wiring is not my forte, I decided that this project may just be too much to handle at this point, especially under a three week garage deadline and especially after hearing from a professional mechanic that I'm most likely going to have to bring in someone VERY familiar with mazda wiring/electronics. Unfortunately I dont know anyone who can help me out in that department. I am still debating whether I will continue on with this project or will sell it. How much i am offered, if I can find a lift in time, and if I am able to find a knowledgable person about wiring will completely determine that.

Secondly, in response to Matty's price quote for shipping, I paid $100 to have this rig freight shipped by R&L carriers from Kentucky to my door in the greater Philadelphia area. It would be easily shipped through R&L again considering my buddy drives a semi for them. I can't tell you how much it would cost to have it shipped further, but if I have any serious inquirers I'll start making some phone calls about it to get a definate.

Lastly, I'd rather not part out this engine so obviously anyone looking to buy the entire setup would of course get precedence.

This might be a 6 hour job if:
-You know exactly what you're doing-- meaning you've done overhauls before
-You're dropping it into an '03 mazdaspeed protege

Remember, the further you stray away from the original platform, and the more discrepancies, the longer this project will take you. Now that I've scared everyone off, PM me with offers. Thanks

I wasn't trying to scare anyone off with the shipping price just saying that this engine going residential would be rather pricey. Gary (kargoboy) can jump in and estimate it better I bet.

Any 2.0L 5spd protege with 5lug wheels will have no problems with this. This would be a super swap for someone wanting 40hp and a great tranny.

$100 is seriously dirt-ass cheap. Esp. if you don't have some kind of corporate discount locked in. How much did you tell R&L it weighed?
Anyway, this would be a nice little swap for someone with the cash to take advantage of it. (not me, sadly).
How much are you expecting to get for it?

be nice to get as a 2nd motor if i had the cash :)

In hindsight I should have used my ID from here, but there's not a whole lot I can do about it now. I'm kind of already regretting putting up a thread on that forum site...I can tell it's going to end up being a pain in my ass. The crowd there is already testing my patience. Some of these kids are just assholes. The crowd here is so much more mellow...I KNEW THERE WAS A REASON I DIDNT REGISTER THERE UNTIL TODAY.
