Basic facts about the human visual suggest that, at the very least, yellow cars are a lot more likely to be SEEN by cops. I don't know if that translates to more tickets, though I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

I actually read an article years ago where a study was done on this very subject....and as Sunbyrne mentioned...its a visual thing....the brighter the color....the easier you are to see and noticed more often, you CATCH the cops eye as you go down the road....so they watch you closer,.....and if you are out there grabbing their attention.....and if you are breaking the law...you are breaking the law....and if you are the type to do this.....attracting attention to yourself probably isn't the thing you want to do....which by driving a brightly colored car you are doing.....but then again...if you didn't want to be noticed...you wouldn't have gotten the Vivid Yellow or the Bright Red...now would you? Personally I do not believe that the police pull over bright colored cars just because they are bright....but because they notice them more often.....they just don't blend in. and WHO WANTS TO DO THAT!!!

So Far So Good

I don't always drive 90mph everywhere ,but at least half of the time I am swurving in and out of lanes because I'm so impatient. Knock on wood I haven't been pulled over yet. So there is more proof that bright cars don't get targeted for their color{at least where I live!

the only thing that translates into being pulled over more is doing stupid things ,,.. If you take your time , drive safe and keep cool , they will not bother you

The color of the car will make it more obvious if you are speeding or driving aggressively than your counterpart in the black or dark colored car. Because of this you you will want to pay more attention to your surroundings when the spirited driving mood hits you. And as Bruce mentioned, don't drive like a fool to avoid drawing more attention to yourself.

I don't really know if the color has anything to do with getting pulled over by cops. I think it all boils down to luck. A few years back I had a '92 bright yellow 5.0 mustang convertible, a '93 performance red ( actually it looks more like orange ) mustang cobra, a '74 white Mazda RX4 and a '84 red mazda RX7. I got 4 speeding tickets and every single time I was driving the white RX4. For the ones that don't know what an RX4 looks like, I doesn't look like a sports car, and it doesn't look like a fast car, which it was.

Yes, yellow will get you more tickets then your average black/silver colour. My thinking is that if you're breaking the law, you're a criminal ( hang on, let me finish first ). When criminals are robbing a bank/selling drugs/killing someone, they don't use yellow cars as they don't want to be noticed. Take it from them, I'm sure that they got experience. That's why they always go for black cars with tinted windows

Now, I've never actually driven 50 km/h (the speed limit here) for an extended period of time (more then 5 seconds I'd say). Don't know about your cops, but I drive around them a steady 60 km/h, and don't do crazy stuff on the streets, and so far no tickets or close calls in my 3 years of driving. When there's no cops around, I cruise at my normal 70 km/h speed where I feel comfortable.

Yellow won't get you the tickets, your driving will, and if cop wants to pull somebody over for no reason, they will do it regardless of the colour. I was pulled over once because he thought that the car was stolen or something, it was brand new, and I guess it looked too good not to be stolen.
This is all I did afterward when the cop was out of the way, I gave him the
