Magnet Bra... anyone get this thing to fit right?

Hi...I recently purchased a 2001 protege LX 2.0. (zero percent intrest woohoo ) Anyway I drive on a freeway that has lots of rock trucks every day to and from work and already have rock chips on the hood.

So I bought a magnet bra and I just can't get the sucker to look like it does on their website. I've got it on where it lines up with everything, but I can't get it to follow the hood just perfectly. It's sort of bulged. I assume I'm going to have to heat it up a lot hotter than I did.

Has anyone got one of these to look really good on a 3rd gen??

Thanks,
SIK

man let me tell ya
it was a bitch to get on..and your right you really got to heat the sucka up good...when you get it on i used a hair dryer and then a paint stripper to heat it up..then it worked great..needs to be super hot..took me almost 30 minutes to get it right though..

hrmmm

Ouch! PAINT STRIPPER? Sheez... well hopefully a blow drier will get it hot enough for me. I've got it on really good. It just won't lie down where the hood steps down to the center. argh.

Well thanks, I'll try to heat it up some when I get a chance.

Later,
SIK

put it in the dryer

My clothes dryer has a drying rack that snaps inside the
door so that you can hold things in place instead of having
them tumble. I put my magnet bra on that and fired up
the dryer for about 10 minutes on low heat.

After that, it was pretty easy to get it to comply to the
curves and bumps of the hood. I still have a little gap
where it arches over the ridges, but it's pretty good.

When I tried the blow dryer, I couldn't get the bra hot
enough. Of course, it is about 40 degrees F here.
