What's the beef with Hondas?

I think it is more of a rival thing, than pure hate. I have a 98 Pro and am looking for a Homda right now. I will not sell my Pro, just need something different. Kind of like being with one girl for a couple of years, I need some strange *****!

um, thats pretty dam rare then. Only racing teams liek petit could do somehting liek that.
the 13bt's cant handle all that power, and you would have to replace the entire car so ti would be a funny car.
and the 20b costs 30 grand to install, and only puts out a few hundred hp, like around 4-500 hp stock.
ive never heard of such a powerfull 13bt, unless its in japan and i just cant read japanese....
trust me, the 1.3 liter engines are NOT nitromethane supercars.....

Why would you have to make it a funny car with that much power? That makes absolutely no sense.
The 20B may cost 30 grand if you pay someone to install it, tune it for huge power, get a wide body kit, etc etc. It does not have to cost anywhere near 30k.
And stock 20B's make ~280hp(under rated some because of japanese law) with the twins. "4-500 hp stock" wheres that info from? The 20B has comparable output to the 13B-REW in late model RX-7's. Thats because its tame and tuned for a much heavier luxury vehicle.

Here's a quote I found regarding the 13B-REW from Chris Ott of Rotary Performance:
'Maximum power output from the 13B-REW engine with stock internals is impressive. On pump gas, you can expect about 400 hp to the wheels and with race gas, this figure jumps to 500 hp... ...We have produced more than 700 hp at the wheels from a gasoline-burning 13B-REW in full race trim."
As for the maximum horsepower rating from Japan... what is it? The websites I looked at regarding the 20B JC Eunos Cosmo all said 300hp was the maximum rating. There's been numbers thrown around in here for 275hp and 276hp. Mazda's official numbers for the Japanese market RX-7 13B-REW is 280hp. So, somewhere between 275-300hp? Or maybe it has changed over the years and all of the numbers are correct at some point in time?

Next of all.....a stock 20B does NOT create 400hp, and you back this up with your own posts. Extended port 20Bs are not stock.
The whole "only race teams" thing was a generalization...most FD owners have money, or ride the bus a lot
Petit's conversion does a lot more than just get the motor in there and running in stock form.
The 20B conversion is more of a "coolness" thing than anything else. Its power to cost ratio is NOT there, and you wont have anything streetable if you push the limits. Like the one guy said, if you want the power, single turbo, stand alone, tuning, and porting on a 13B is what you need to look at.

and thats just your average rex owner.
