I never give homeless people money.

I am not a greedy bastard. I don't want to help support these people's ill habits, many of them caused by mental illness (not funny). Giving them money only lets them continue. I'm not sure that there's a way to help them either, though.

Think about it, no matter how desperate your financial situation gets, most of us would have something to fall back on before going to the street. Parent's house, friend's house, something.

Homelessness happens too frequently for me to believe that they've all been in such dire circumstances that they can't find their way out of.

 

I would give someone like this food before I gave him money.
