Home made dinner with my wife on 2/14
#5
You can either boil or bRoil lobster - I personally prefer broiling. Oooh, and on a BBq is awesome!
And - I, too made dinner for me and the wife for V-day, though I frequently cook for us anyway.
Consisted of:
Chicken Scampi - yes, like the shrimp, only with strips of chicken breast
Lingiuini with olive oil and garlic and shrimp
Steamed carrots and broccoli.
Nice bottle of Pinot Grigo - the lady's fave white wine.
Oh, and of course, candles and a dozen roses on the table.
T'was tasty indeed!

I got a beef with the dozen roses thing........
EVERYWHERE in Europe, you are supposed to give a single red rose to the one you love/like.......
However, here it seems that the tradition is to give as many dozens of roses as you want.......
That's wrong, it's a conspiracy people......
The flower industry has created this in order to make more money.........
I've heard of people buying 5-6 dozens of roses to express their love. In my opinion this is ridiculous.....
Love isn't about money. Why would I spend 30$ for flowers. A single red rose speaks volumes, not the dozens of roses that show off how much money you are willing to waste on flowers...
So fellow men, let's start a revolution. North America needs to go back to buying a single red rose on Valentine's Day. I don't want to feel cheap when I buy only one.

I didn't buy any flower for my wife.
I guess we are way beyond that stage.
In the grocery store near us, a dozen of red roses usually cost something less than 7 dollars. On V-day the same dozen roses cost over 20 dollars. My wife agreed with me that she would rather pay the same amount for 2 more packs of steak+lobster tail.

Yeah, actually the only reason why I bought a rose is because she told me a few weeks ago that 'You'd never get me flowers'.....
So I just wanted to prove her wrong, but in a way, she's right. I do think that other things are a way better investment then flowers

Buying flowers such sucks, but the ladies like it.
I refuse to spend all THAT kinda cheddah, tho - the local florist wanted $65 A DOZEN for crappy-looking roses. I picked 'em at Pathmark while buying dinner stuff $22 - not bad.

I've gotten them from costco for about $10 before... I know that sounds crappy, but they were actually really good..they were young and still had some buds that were un-opened, so every once in a while you'd have another flower in the morning Not bad, lasted a while

Nothing Wrong with Costco...A rose is a rose...most women don't care where you bought it...as long as it smells nice...
God forbid the time when Nordstroms or Banana Republic start selling flowers...then you know you are in trouble when the wife starts asking to see the brandname stamped on the package...Just give chocolate...at least that will keep longer then 3 days....
