I ordered an Xbox 360 off of Ebay (from a company/not an individual). A week later, it arrives - w00t! I throw in the copy of Dirt i got... play 2 games... Xbox freezes up
so.. i figure it must be a fluke, so i reset. Nope, no fluke.. freezes up @ random spots. and then the dreaded RROD!
anyway. Got an email in to the place i bought it from,
Status of right now:
1. I emailed them Saturday Morning
2. Recieved email this afternoon - "We have forwarded your query to the concerned department."
3. Waiting for another email Monday (8/20)

Is the warranty transferable (you didn't mention if it was new or used)? The main RROD issue is well known and documented, and covered under warranty. Microsoft has revised it to fix the issue, but a lot of stores still have the old model.
I don't know a single person with a 360 who hasn't needed to have it replaced at least once.
... though the same goes for the PS3 :P

it was "refurbished", but the company i bought it from has a 30-day replacement warranty... and i bought the "all your money back" year warranty (just in case)
p.s. - i got play a whopping 4 races in Dirt before it completey expired. HAHA

I think it has a lot to do with how the system is cared for and ventilated. I knew people who lived in filthy apartments that smoked right next to their psx and they'd go out all the time. Mine, on the other hand, were pampered and last forever.

Mine gets pampered, but I don't play the thing very much. I Think I've played all of an hour or two in the past month and a half. I don't like FPS's on consoles, so there aren't that many 360 games that pique my interest.
