Dropped The P5 off @ Mazda This Morning

Ok, I just got word from Mazda. Seems my engine has locked up. I'm looking in the neighborhood of 6k for a new one. I just passed on the extended warranty info to the dealer and they are going to be chatting it over and he's supposed to give me a call after that. We'll see how it goes after that.

How did your engine lock up? Thats a strange run of events considering it started while the car was moving, then it just doesnt start any more.....Strange....
Good luck with getting it all back together!

Well, after talking w/the service manager I was informed that I had to produce at least the last 3 oil change reciepts (which I did after some running around to find the copies etc.). However, I did 2 oil changes on my own. I know we are supposed to change the oil every 2-3k miles....which I've been doing. However I can't produce a sheet for the 2 times I did it myself, since I did it on base. Anyway...I had to give Mazda consent to take the entire engine apart now and once the ball gets rolling, the warranty folks will be sending an inspector to check things out.
**Just got off the horn w/the manager**
He says we can go roughly 7,500k on a single oil change & still be good to go...even though I religiously change mine waaaay below that mileage....he's going to fax away those oil ervice receipts today.
& as usual I'll keep you guys posted...and damn it...I can't eat, sleep or concentrate on **** since this has happened. I checked on ebay yesterday for low-mileage, used engines and they are relatively cheap. Around $6xx plus $150 for shipping.

It's not pretty, but if they honor my warranty...I'm going to thank my lucky stars. My gf has been trying to e-cheer me up (and calling ) all day (she's in S.Florida)...at least she's trying to keep me cool, calm & collected.
