car alarms?

some ******* broke into my pro5 this morning and stole my jacket, momo sunglasses, computer keyboard, and a bunch of cd's. i was just thinking of what kind of alarm to get the other day... guess i should have thought faster.

what kind of alarms is everyone else using... and how good are they? i really would like to get one of those $400 ones that page you when something is going down... but i just don't have that kind of money to spare.

My MP5 has a factory alarm w/ a shock sensor. Plus I got the Low Jack option, it's a tracking system. I only got the LJ because I work in the city. And by the way my insurance co. didn't cut me a break on it either. Any way, Black Widow is a pretty good alarm along with Bull Dog. I have used the Black widow alarm twice and I have been very satisfied. If you like to leave your windows down or sun roof open buy the motion sensor option. The alarms that page you are a good idea, but what are you going to do when you get there? What if the guy pulls a gun or knife? I know a guy that had the pager system and when he got to his car the guy pulled a knife out. So Jason(friend) said just keep it clean. By the time you call the cops the guy is done stealing your $hit. It's up to you but that's how I feel. Oh yeah one other thing if they don't know what's in your car why would they break into to steal it. I keep everything hidden and any valuables are locked in the glove compartment. Tinting your windows also hides things as well. I don't blare my music when I go to the mall either so no one knows I have a sub .

yeah.. i was kinda thinking the same thing with those real expensive alarms. my neighbor told me his friend saw someone at the mall with a big hunting knife just going down the line of cars, smashing in windows and having his friend clean the cars out. fucked thing is, my car is still (but not for long) all stock. all i had was a jacket in the back seat. good thing i didn't get my stereo and subs installed, or those would be gone too.
