Bragging rights
#16
i've had my fair share of repairing name brand computers and laptops. from what i can gather, any brand is as likely to break as the next. nobody can gaurantee that a laptop you buy off the shelf tomorrow will never break down a day or a year down the road. heck, my brand new Dell 2405fpw broke on me after only 3 months of babied usage. i've also noticed that roughtly 65% of the time, the hardware actually is defective, the rest of the problem lies between keyboard and chair. just stick to the brands you're familiar with, and if you're especially brave, experiment with new brands and features. and dont forget protection! mcafee, symantec, or avg is better than nothing.
and as a side note, dell desktops are some of the easiest cases to work around in, while a lot of the hp's are a nightmare just looking inside of one.
