most likely just the exhaust. but if you get a CEL, and they trace it to the exhaust, then u gotta pay for it. ie, ur warranty wont cover it.

lol, ive already voided that warranty, with my catback, and my suspension warranty, with lowering my car... lol, oh well

Technically just the warranty on your catback, because to void the warranty on anything else they have to prove (i.e. it would have to hold up in court) that your custom work caused any problems.

For example, suppose there was electrical wiring exposed underneath the car and your custom cat-back rubbed on it, causing a short and damaging some electrical components. They won't cover that

Alright, can I go a little deeper on this subject?

What would void your warranty from the following aftermarket upgrades?
1. Cat back
2. Intake
3. Headers
4. Sway Bars
5. Lowering kit
6. Bigger wheels (I hope not!!)

What about using Mazdaspeed parts? Are they good (don't void warranty) even if you install yourself?

My car only has 2k miles and I would like to do some of these, but I am afraid of voiding the new warranty.

Most of the Mazdaspeed parts don't void your warranty. One that comes to mind that does is the full coilover kit. There are three 'colors' of warranty coverage for the Mazdaspeed parts in the catalog. Each color corresponds to the amount of warranty protection/voiding.

For things like wheels.. obviously you can't go compain to them that your aftermarket wheels have flaking paint, it won't affect you aside from that. The only chance is that if your rear fenders rust badly at 50k miles they can say that your different-sized tires must have rubbed the fender (as me how I know).

The cat-back, intake, sway bars, and lowering kit you can get from Mazdaspeed. I doubt they sell a header but you never know. The Mazdaspeed parts catalog is available online somewhere but I'm not sure where as they never did a thing for the Protege.
