custom exhaust??
did anybody make their own custom exhaust systems? what did you use and what did you do? did you do all the welding? i need exhaust system, but i'm on tight budget, i should go for a custom exhaust system, at least, for now... any helps would be appreciated. thanks

I got a custom exhaust, but I let the shop do it. Unless you have the tools to do it, I would suggest the same. The biddest part will be bending the pipe, which requires a pretty big machine. I think it's called a bending mandrel. You car will also have to be on a lift.

hell yeah, i'll get the body shop to do it. but if anybody can give me their list of all the pipes and the sizes, i might look it up at home depot or any places that hasn't been mentioned. would the custom make a good sound like... VROOM, VROOM, VROOM? i need that kind of custom exhaust... but also, how much does the body shop charge for install, bending mandrel, and labor? i'm much new to this, but i tell you, just two days ago i got done install the eibach springs on my car with no experience at all. custom exhaust just sounds easy.

<<<< Well, I have 2.25 exhaust. I paid $320 all together.
$150 for magnaflow muffler and $170 for custom piping and everything else. >>>>
$320?! damn, still pricey to me, though. but if i was to get that done for about $300, i wouldn't be keeping it cause i will always want to upgrade the exhaust maybe to HKS or Racing Beat. well, i'm still getting the idea, though... i hate it, but my dad always tell me to save my money. woo.

you can always get a ebay muffler for 50 bucks and pay another 100 for a complete exhaust tubing and installation, it will be crused tubing, but if you use 2.25 or 2.5 tubing, it won't matter anyways. i would recommend ditching the resonator and the second cat. those 2 things, mostly the car, really affect the sound of the car in the higher rpm range

I bought a Sparkco muffler through the original manufacturer guy. Paid $100 cdn including all taxes and shipping (received it the next day since he shipped it via. Fedex). Costed me $60 cdn for installation.
This is what I have:

I like the muffler you got. it is pretty big, just what i am looking for. are they only muffler tip? do they make any sounds? describe it and how the car's feeling...

yea i like it a lot.
It's a muffler that replaces your existing one, it needs to be welded on (thus a custom pipe is needed). It comes with a removable silencer. But whether you have the silencer on or not, the exhaust makes a strong deep exhaust note. (trust me, you'll like it). And without the silencer, I noticed that the car feels a little smoother (maybe due to less backpressure now). You won't really notice any power increase, but definitely the car runs smoother, and definitely sportier-feeling.
Hope it helps.
