Ne 1 try to put turbo on an non turbo 3

I purchased a 07 Mazda 3 2.3 5 speed about a month and a half ago and I love it. Didnt have the money to purchase the Speed edition though. I have been working that overtime and saving that money to upgrade my vehicle. My question is has anyone out there upgraded the factory engine with a turbo from a factory 2.3 speed edition. I have never had a turbo car before. So I think for starters I just want to find a wrecked 2.3 and grab all the accessories for the turbo and put it in mine. Would I be waisting my time since I am probably just going to upgrade it later? The other question is I know I have to take the turbo, intake manifold, down pipe, blowoff valve ecu and all that good stuff, but should I take the tranny to since its a 6speed compaired to my 5 speed?

your best bet would be to save up about $4000 and give Juan at Hiboost a call. His kit on 8psi makes 237whp. If you invest in forged rods HE's made over 508whp with the same setup.

Start saving your pennies now and don't worry about any of the MS6/3 stuff. It's not worth it.

contact Eagle or Pauter or just go to www.protegegarage.com and ask Ken for some prices on everything. He sells HiBoost and the internals.

Ken's a really nice guy, phone him up on his shop number and he'll tell you everything you need to know. He will ship some of the stuff you're looking for, free.
