Just got my Speed3 today question about a sound and smell

I love my car to death and I've only owned for about 6 hours now.

After driving it for awhile I noticed a kind of rubbing sound at low speeds any ideas?

Also this could be just a new car wearing in thing but it has a odd burning smell any ideas?

First off, grats on your new ms3! Its an awesome car as im sure you can tell. As for the smell its normal for any new car to have a what i call break in smell. MY MSP3 did the same thing for about the first 1k miles then it will wear to a degree. As for a thumbing noise notice if it does it when u first start to drive it, because i know with mine in the mornings it gives me a bit of a thump from the low profile tires that goes away when they heat up.

After driving the car some more, the sound happens at any speed. It never happens when I'm pressing the gas.

Also the sound is a more of a howling sound than a rumble.

Sounds to me like possible tire noise. But it couldnt hurt to have the dealer do a quick lookover since you just bought it. Probably will tell you its character of the car but still worth a shot.

yeah, it would be best if you bring it to the dealer, and have it checked.. there might be wrong with your tires.. if it is under warranty, you'll have no worry, they'll fixed it for free.. my brother had that problem before, something was wrong with the tire pressure and the mazda wheel hub needs to be replaced..
