hood gets real hot

just had a quick question it may sound a little stupid but i have a 2009 speed3 and was just wondering if it is normal for the hood to get really hot after a drive. ive been noticing that after a normal drive the middle of the hood is extremely hot. not sure if this is normal any feed back would be appreciated.
