I purchased a 2015 Mazda 3 Hatch (Grand touring automatic) at the end of the year. I've yet to get anything close to the 30 MPG city average even with some highway driving. 24 MPG is about what I'm seeing. I had the car in once to be checked and nothing amiss was found. I've been told by Mazda service technicians that it's due to cold weather (now it's spring), break-in period, heavier winter gas, etc. Curious if others have experienced poor gas mileage on their Mazda 3.

 

You must have a heavy foot like me. unless you drive like a grandma (no offense grandmas) the mazda 3 is a gas guzzler compared to my toyota corolla that i traded in oh well you live and you learn. im seeing 28.2 MPG mostly highway miles

 

Mine car 2011 Mazda 3 2.0 Fuel economy meter show that 10.3L/100km consider high fuel consumption. Based on my trip tracker normally I fuel up around RM76.00 can drive up to 360km-380km.

May I know my car is consider high fuel consumption or normal?

 

A well running Mazda3 should get 30+mpg all day long. Even a turbocharged Mazdaspeed3 gets 30mpg.

I'd check things like spark plugs/wires, air filter and the 02 sensor
