mileage

Hi, I had a question if someone can answer it for me. See i just got a new cluster and i dunno how to change the mielage on it. Can someone tell me how? Or where i can get it done. Thanks

Basically impossible. Those things are made to break if you try to mess with them. You might be able to run the speedo cable really fast so that it goes up or rolls over if it's lower. I have no idea how to do this on a new car

edit:: err do you have an analog one or digital display? (ie what year do you have)

I have a Mazda protege 2000 lx. Tell me more about this speedo cable thing...where can i get it?

The mileage on my car is 40,000
The new cluster the mileage is 9,000

Actually the speedo cable is just the cable running from the transmission to the gauges. On really old cars it used to rotate something so the odometer would turn, all you had to do was rotate that thing and it clicks up. I don't know how modern ones work though

seeing as how your new cluster is LOWER than the actual mileage...don't worry about it....just leave it as it is.
