Converting to a power seat

Hello all,

I'm new to this site and a new owner of an '09 Mazda3 S touring. It has the cloth seats which have manual controls. I would like to convert to the power seat controls mainly so I can adjust the angle of the seat pan. I commute 55 miles each way to work, and would like to be able to adjust my position more. The power seat would also make the adjustments easier, thus rendering me more likely to make the adjustments as I drive.

Any suggestions? Can I just buy the mounting hardware/brackets/motor from Mazda, or is it more complicated than that?

Regards,

Jamie

Jamie,

I just posted a note asking about converting to some other brand of seat. I don't like the 3 seats either, and have wondered if converting to power would add the ability to lift the front of the seat, as you suggested. Where are you on the issue, have you had any luck? Supposedly the 2010 seats are quite the deal. Probably pretty expensive as aftermarket add ons.

Let me know.
