this is a fairly comon problem. no one seems to know the cause.

Folks,
I was away for a month during Dec 2005/Jan 2006 and the car was not used while I was away. The clock seems to be keeping time okay upon my return so the problem seems to be fixed for now.
Thanks very much for all your help and suggestions.
BTW - the car is fantastic, almost too much for me to handle (smile).

My new 06 just did the same thing; I dont think it is loss of power if that where the case it would go to 12:00 and start from there. I think it happend by using the info button and I inadvertently reset the time.

Mine did it twice already. Each time it lost about 15min. WTF??
I want a recall on Mazda3 clock

This is a issue with the clock circuit on 06's

Have the dealer call united radio for a replacement display.

No more excuses for being late for work..;-)

I have had this happen twice in our 06, my wife claims that both times I had switched the car off but turned on the key (ACC position)to listen to the radio. I have not done that since and there have been no problems with the clock.
