Changin rims in winter
Hey i just ordered rims and was wondering from those of you with bad winters, do a lot of you use your stock rims in the winter bc of harsh conditions or just leave your new ones on and clean them alot

depends on what you got really. i have aftermarket 17s on with some falken all-season tires. i'll just leave them on year round.
missouri is so hit or miss on winters anyway. one year we get 5 snow storms, the next we get a total of 2 inches for the winter. plus road crews generally get things decent the same day of the storm.
i would suggest trying to find reviews on the specific tires you got.

That only needed to happen once for me to learn my lesson.

my point was that certain tires are not designed for snow at all, while others may be fine. if the tires aren't any good for snow, then you're more likely to slide. and then end up in a situation like you just described, or worse.
