.. anyone? I have an '04 (GT 5-speed 2.3 and I can't stand the non-MP3 Bose (ugh..) single-disk non DIS HU. Must.. replace... If anyone is upgrading their head unit and wants to get rid of their old one, drop me a line.

Sadly it won't work. The wiring was changed in '06 and a '06 HU won't work plug and play in a pre-'06 car (the LCD has a separate plug in the newer models).

As far as Mp3 goes in '04-'05 there was an optional single CD/Mp3 HU. In '06 this was replaced with a 6CD/Mp3 HU, but again that stereo won't work in your car. It may be possible the simply replace the CD player part of the HU but I'm not sure.

This does NOT make my day! But the information is very useful, you've saved me and my wallet some pain; thanks.
Now I wonder if there's a harness to convert the '04 up to an '06+.

If anyone knows of such a beast, please let me know.
