OMG My head unit. . HELP PLEASE
Ok, so I still haven't solved this problem.
Problem:
My head unit once in a while, mainly on bumps, even small ones, "skips", but it's not really a skip. It's a break of silence. The track is still playing, just no sound. But the sounds it makes before the silence it like a popping, staticy sound. After a week or two, I realized that it goes back 2 normal if I hit the HU. I checked the harness last week b/c I thought it was something with the wires, but they looked fine. Someone please help me on this. It's driving me crazy. Thanks so much.

i was wondering if it only happens when you play cd's have you cleaned the lens yet? sometimes that would help and check the disc's also. if it happens on the radio also check your ground wires from the deck acually check all you connections with the deck playing, like you are simulating driving conditions and wiggle each wire to see if it happens, if not it might be the acual deck.

sounds like you have a short INSIDE your head unit. my old Kenwood had that same problem and died about a month afterwards. hope you have better luck than i did...

Since you're talkin about headunits, I think something might be up with mine. When I listen to the radio some stations come in really well and some others barely come in at all. But then when I continue to drive and get to a certain spot, the station that wouldn't come in would all of a sudden come in crystal clear. I have a lot of interference on the stations and Im thinking if I get a ground wire kit it would help, right?
