Question 04 Shifting Problem

Hi there.Ive noticed that when im driving my car it sometimes is stiff when shifting gears. Its not all the time and doesnt seem to be any one thing that triggers it.When i put the clutch in and shift the gears around it frees it up.Any ideas? The car doesnt slip, grind or anything likr that just the random stiffness. Thanks

It could be one of several possibilities. Frequently people will complain of difficulty shifting into reverse without double clutching, or without going into first gear first. [i]That[/i[ problem is because the reverse gear doesn't have synchros like the forward gears do.

Anyway you could try changing out your transmission fluid and see if that helps them move more freely. Otherwise if it's behaving itself and not giving you problems I'd not worry overly much about it.

There could be some worn bushings / cables in the shift linkage, which could bind or get out of alignment on occasion.
