BULK BUY for MHP CAI!!!!!PLZ RESPOND
#31
This is what Rishie posted on www.protegemp3.com...
I did contact MHP and have everything setup. We are in the process of submitting the CARB application and it should come through within the next 6 months depending on processing time.
All payments will be made to autornd@hotmail.com via paypal.
There are no Black Chromes available, so CF it is. There were only 10 black chromes produced.
Information:
All CF intakes, includes Bypass Valve
What color hosing; yellow, blue, or red?
I need to receive all payments by next week. I need to receive my system so I can do a sniff test on it for the CARB exemption.
Everyone will pay the same price, for CF it will be $300.00. I need to pay shipping to me and then back out to you. About $15.00 both ways. I will speak to the rep and see if he will drop ship. If that's the case, only $15.00 for shipping to anywhere in the continental U.S.

That is correct DJ. Once we're in, the forum is in. The deal will only apply to active registered members. We want you guys to generate interest and help out the community at the same time. Discounted products will be offered through here as well as generating money to expand its services and user friendliness.
Either way, I am doing it. But if you want the deal, you gotta meet me halfway. The community will thank you in the future.
Thanks, RIshie

I LIVE IN NJ WHEN SHOULD I BE EXPECTING MY CAI???....ON YOUR PERSONAL OPINION SHOULD I CLOSE OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE BUMPER TO SHIELD IT FROM THE WATER?? IT DOES LOOK LIKE IT IS SEMI-SHIELDED....BUT I THIK I SHOULD SHIELD IT OFF COMPETLEY...WAT DO U THINK??...ALSO THE BY-PASS VALVE...IT IS DESIGNED TO BE WATER BY-PASS VALVE...SO WHY IS IT DIRECTLY ON TOP OF THE FILTER??....DO U THINK I CAN RELOCATE THE SENSOR AND THE BY-PASS??....IF YOU LOOK AT THE PIC ON THE PREV PAGE...WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I SWITCH THE 2??...SENSOR ABOVE FILTER AND BYPASS IN BTWN 2 YELLOW CLAMPS...I SEE NO PROBLEM IN THIS DOES ANYONE ELSE??? I JUST HTINK THIS IS THE MORE LOGICAL WAY OF DOING IT....ANYFEEDBACK WOULD BE APPRECIATED

You want the bypass valve to go before your MAF, that way you don't get water in it. The Bypass valve is fine where it is right above the fender, inside the engine bay. I would not move it from that location if I were you. You shouldn't need to close off the underside of the car anymore either because the bypass valve will take care of any water sucked up by the intake. I forget which month it was in SCC, but they did a test with the AEM bypass valve. They took an NSX, hooked it up to a dyno, got the car up to speed, and stuck the whole filter in a fish tank of water. The water would only go up so far before it stopped and woulnd't go any further (Eric ). The car was fine. But do what you feel is best.

Close, but not quite. If water entered the intake through the air filter and made it all the way to the bypass valve, the bypass valve wouldn't work. The bypass valve works by spring loaded flaps allowing air to 'bypass' the air filter in the event that vacuum in the intake exceeds the spring rate on the flaps in the bypass valve. What causes the vacuum in the intake to exceed the spring rate on the bypass valve flaps in enough water being sucked into the air filter to prevent air from flowing through the filter freely.
